TEACHING
PHILOSOPHY
Teaching requires specific approaches that will fit the learners' needs.
As a teacher, we should always consider the students' process of
learning, simply because students have various ways of learning.
Therefore, I always considered these two philosophies when teaching
diverse learners.

STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING
ENVIRONMENT APPROACH
As a teaching intern, I always strive to provide a learning environment
where the student is in charge or in the driving seat of their own
learning. This allows them to practice and discover their abilities,
strengths, and weaknesses.
As a learning facilitator, you should always make sure that the lessons
incorporate a variety of teaching techniques so that students can
learn using their preferred learning style. In my demonstration
teaching, I used a variety of strategies focusing on student-centered
learning.
I used activities that were both doable yet challenging, which are
based on Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development. My ideal
classroom setting is one that is focused on the students. I also tried
designing learning situations in which the students work in groups on
projects while I wander around and facilitate discussions.

INCORPORATION OF THE HOLISTIC

APPROACH
As a teacher, I have always thought it was imperative to provide equal
attention to each student's social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and
other aspects of life. During my days with Grade 10 students, I always
ask them and try to get to know them well because I believe that
getting to know your students is vital in order for us to know their
needs and employ the necessary approach that would surely help to
meet their needs.
Therefore, it is crucial to pay attention to not just their
cognitive development but also their emotional and social
wellness, both of which are essential for learning to take
place. It's crucial that the students' basic needs are met in
the classroom in order for them to feel happy, at ease,
safe, and accepted there. In order to focus on study and
personal growth, pupils' basic needs must be satisfied.

KLA 1
LEARNING JOURNEY
CONTENT KNOWLEDGE AND
PEDAGOGY
This evidence shows the material I used in
my lesson. As you can see in the image,
this was my lesson in English 9 class. What
I did was provide a simple definition of the
lesson with an example for them to be
able to understand with just one read. I
even added denotation so that they could
easily specify the two parts of a
conditional sentence.

Making everything as simple as possible without sacrificing learning

competencies is extremely important. As I developed and selected the
knowledge content that should be provided, I considered the thought that
it's not about presenting crowded information but about the accuracy and
precision of the content.
This lesson is quite confusing because it involves grammar. It took me a few
sleepless nights to understand very well so that I could execute the lesson
in a more understandable way.

This is the other material I used to

further emphasize my topic in a more
basic way. I include the structure for
forming conditional sentences in each
type of conditional. It is vital for the
students to familiarize themselves with
the structure and rules of each type of
Conditionals Therefore, it is important
to be knowledgeable when providing
the content to be presented.
It is necessary and vital to apply the mastery of the lesson to make
accurate and realistic context and to be precise in putting only the
necessary content so that the students won't be confused by
crowded information.

My KLA 2
LEARNING JOURNEY
DIVERSITY OF LEARNERS,
ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING
OF LEARNING
Teaching students how to use
conditionals in sentences is
kind of hard because the
subject is kind of confusing and
they have different learning
processes to grasp the lesson.

As shown in this evidence, this is the first evaluation assessment

that we did. This was done onsite during my demonstration
teaching, wherein the aim of this assessment was to fully
understand the diversity of learners.

This was also the first assessment rubric I was able to use with my
assigned students. Students are more likely to meet or achieve a
certain goal when assessment is done using rubrics. In addition,
using rubrics enables us to pinpoint areas of strength and weakness
in a group of students and modify their instruction accordingly.

In my final demonstration, I
prepared a group activity
wherein the students will apply
their newly acquired knowledge
based on the lesson. The
students were grouped into four
groups.

As you can see in this evidence, I have created an activity

that will allow them to practice how to use conditionals in
expressing arguments. The main purpose of this activity is
to unleash the students' skills by collaborating with their
group and practicing critical thinking skills. The students
will transform arguments into conditional statements.

My KLA 3
LEARNING JOURNEY
CURRICULUM AND
PLANNING

As I craft my lesson for English 9, I have

observed and anchored it based on the
needs analysis of the grade 9 students.
It is very important to align the lesson's
objectives with the needs of the
students. As you can see in the
evidence shown, I based my lesson on
the module of grade 9 so that my
learning objectives would be aligned
with what the students needed to learn.

As you can see from the

evidence shown, this was my
first lesson plan that I made for
my demonstration. There were a
few changes, particularly in my
generalization, which was
checked by our critic teacher as
I improved my draft.

I am thankful for my critic teacher for allowing me to revise my

learning plan because I was able to choose and employ activities
that were appropriate to my lesson and the level of interest of my
learners. This made me realize that, as a teacher, you really have to
focus on the level of interest of the students. You have to be
precise in everything so that the students won't be confused.

My KLA 4
LEARNING JOURNEY
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT

This is a screenshot from a professionalism session conducted

by one of our EduPEP facilitators. I really appreciated this
learning opportunity because it helped me to understand that
I would soon be a part of a community of professional
teachers who are in charge of their own personal and
professional development.

During this class, as I recall, we discussed how teachers are

highly valued by students and communities as role models.
Making my job genuinely joyful will depend on how well I
continue to grow my understanding of how I connect to my
students, my coworkers, and my superiors as well as how I
work toward my goals.

My KLA 4
LEARNING JOURNEY
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT

As you can see in the provided pictures as evidence, this is

our team with our critic teacher. Every day, both onsite and
online, we are reminded to maintain professional relationships
with our co-teacher interns, critic teachers, and students. We
built a professional relationship wherein we worked hand in
hand and gave each other feedback on how we could further
develop our teaching strategies in a professional way.

LEARNING JOURNEY
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT

These shown evidences are pictures of us together with our

students. As a teacher, it is very important to build a
professional relationship with the students to make learning
more engaging. However, there are certain rules to follow, and
this is to set limits in every action that we take. We dress up as
teachers, we go to school to teach, and we go home as
teachers. Being a teacher means being rational. We should
know how to set boundaries with our students.

My KLA 5
LEARNING JOURNEY
PLUS FACTOR

The evidence shown is the certificates that I got for the

Google Educator Certification for Level 1 and Level 2. To be
honest, I was not expecting to pass the exams. First, I have
insufficient knowledge about technology, which is the reason
why I doubted myself in the first place to pass the exams. But
I realized its long-term benefits as a teacher and the skills
that I would obtain, which helped me feel excited about
taking this course.

The skills that this course offers are the necessary skills that
teachers should have in the 21st century. I learned that in
order to get certified by DepEd, you must be at the Teacher II
level. However, in my situation, I am entering the teaching
field with a list of credentials that includes these
certifications. I am grateful because I passed both Google
Educator Certification for Level 1 and Level 2.

SELF-ASSESSMENT

As I reflect on my journey at the end of my EduPEP and Field

Study, I would give myself an A+. To be honest, I was teary-
eyed the moment I started reminiscing about where I started.
I just can't believe I've come this far. I admit that I have
weaknesses, but I always carry my words that it's not the
characters that play but what's within your heart and mind.

As our interactions with the PEP trainers, the critique teacher,

the students, and the co-teacher interns developed, I realized
that I had been given a fantastic opportunity to rediscover my
knowledge. Unlocking my full potential has really altered my
perception of myself as a candidate for the teaching
profession.

My goal as a professional teacher is to keep reflecting, and

this dossier is simply the beginning of that process. I'm hoping
to take all the knowledge I've gained throughout the past
semester with me.
The grade is almost excellent because that is precisely how
I feel; I am almost at the stage where I can declare with
assurance that I am actually capable of handling the
responsibilities of a professional teacher. But I still need to
improve my attitude, knowledge, and talents.
