I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the learners are able to:
1. identify the initial or beginning letter of pictures correctly;
2. identify words that begin with vowel and consonant;
3.answer the wh- questions; and
4. give examples of words that begin with vowels; and
consonants that they can see in their place.

Hello! Welcome to another quarter of your adventure to the
World of English. Hope you will still show how eager you are to
learn more in this subject, especially your love in reading. So,
wear your best smile and be confident as you enter to the World
of English and to the ADVENTURE OF READING.

Last quarter you learned about the letters of the English


alphabet.
As a review, name the letters below.

As part of your adventure in the world of English, you are expected

 You will identify the beginning letter of pictures correctly.
 You will identify picture begins with vowels or consonants.
 You will answer the Wh- questions to check if you
understand the story.
 You will also give some words that begin with vowels and
consonants which you can see every day.

Healthy Foods in the Market

It was early morning, when Anna went to the market with her
mother. They bought hito andgalunggong. They also bought Anna’s
favorite vegetables that are rich in vitamins, like carrots and squash.
Mother bought fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamins. She
bought avocado, orange, mango, grapes, eggplants, okra, pechay
and tomato for the family. They also bought foods rich in proteins, like
eggs and monggo.Foods that are rich in protein helps repair and build
the tissues
Mother explained that these foods make our body strong and
protect us from virus causing disease, like Covid-19. in our body.

 The word tomato begins with letter Tt or the sound of /t/.
 The words pechay and tomato are names of vegetables

can. Write it in the proper column. Then, underline its

H. Making Generalizations and Abstractions about the Lesson

Remember! All things around you begin with the letter of the
English Alphabet. It can be a vowel or a consonant. There
are 5 vowels in the English Alphabet. These are the following:
Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo and Uu.

The consonants in the English Alphabet are the following:
