A. Review
Show some pictures of animals and name it. Identify their habitats.

B. Motivation/Presentation
“Garden Show”
Show pictures of different gardens in school.

C. Lesson Proper
a. Refer to Learner’s Materials Activity 1, Part A.

b. Observe and discuss the different parts of the plant.

D. Generalization
What are the different parts of the plant?

 The root is the plant part that grows downward into the ground.
 The stem is the plant part where leaves and flower grow from. It is usually found
above the ground, but it can also be found below the ground, or both.
 The leaf is the plant part that grows from the stem. It is usually flat and green, but
could also have other shapes and colors.
 The flower is the most easily seen plant part because of its color. It is also the part
that develops into a fruit. Not all plants bear flowers and fruits.

E. Application
Group Activity

Write the name of the plants they observed. Then, put a check on the
appropriate column on the parts that the plants have based on their observations.
F. Assessment

Label the parts of the plant.

G. Assignment

Draw your favorite plant and label its parts.
