CLASSIFICATION OF SCARRED PATTERNS, AMPUTATION
AND MISSING FINGER AT BIRTH

When fingerprint are frequently faced with problems involving scared impression and
amputation or finger missing at birth. The simplified rule as follows:

1. When fingerprint is too much scar and partially damage the impression and the ridge-
tracing and ridge-counting is impossible the general pattern type is undeterminable the
rule is consider the pattern at the opposite finger.
2. When one of the left finger is amputated with a symbol of (AMP) or finger missing at
birth with the symbol of (FMB), the rule is consider the pattern at the opposite finger at
the right hand.
 3. When one of the right finger is amputated with a symbol of (AMP) or finger missing at
birth with the symbol of (FMB), the rule is consider the pattern at the opposite finger at
the left hand.
4. When two of the opposite fingers are amputated with a symbol of (AMP) or finger
missing at birth with the symbol of (FMB), the rule is consider the pattern as plain whorl
with the tracing of meeting (M),
5. When two fingers are amputated with a symbol of (AMP) or finger missing at birth with
the symbol of (FMB) at the left hand, the rule is consider the pattern at the opposite
fingers at the right hand.
6. When two fingers is amputated with a symbol of (AMP) or finger missing at birth with
the symbol of (FMB) at the right hand, the rule is consider the pattern at the opposite
fingers at the left hand.
7. When three or more fingers are amputated with a symbol of (AMP) or finger missing at
birth with the symbol of (FMB) at the right and left hand, the rule is consider all the
patterns at the left and right hand as plain whorl with the tracing of meeting (M).
8. When all the fingers are amputated with a symbol of (AMP) or finger missing at birth
with the symbol of (FMB) at the right and left hand, the rule is consider all the patterns
at the left and right hand as plain whorl with the tracing of meeting (M).
