RUSSIA - UKRAINE WAR

Vladimir Putin, the Russian president. Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president

The permanent invasions of Russia to Ukraine have turned this conflict into a war, but the tension between
these two countries falls way long ago. This year has come full of new attacks and more aggression between
these nations.

Crimea was internationally recognized as part of

Ukraine.
In 2014, Russia annexed Crimea to its territory
with a controversial referendum.
.

Donetsk and Luhansk were part of Ukraine but

since 2014, this area was occupied by separatists
protected by Russia.
On 21 February 2022, Vladimir Putin, the Russian
president, recognized the two self-proclaimed
separatist states Donetsk and Luhansk, officially
and openly sent troops into the territories.
Three days later, Russia invaded Ukraine. Much
of the international community has
condemned Russia for its actions in Ukraine,
accusing it of breaking international law and
violating Ukrainian sovereignty.
Many countries implemented economic
sanctions against Russia.
Many Ukrainians left their country,
