Week Story Strategy

1 Emang Engkantada Picture Book Walk
 We will browse the book first and
make guesses about what the
story is all about.

2 Si Pilandok at ang Picture Book Walk

Sampung Buwaya  It’s important to take a look first at
the books that we’re about to use.

- I’ve wanted to share my two favorite classic story for my

learners so wrote it down.
Plan - These stories are magical but much relatable and colorful as
well.
- I know that my learners will surely enjoy it.

- We did the book walk this week about Emang Engkantada

Take Action and we’re planning to read the second story by next week.
- My pupils were anxious because some of them already know
the story.
- Some of them were really focused.

- I think I did a good job, and my pupil’s too.

Evaluate - I asked some of them to draw their favorite part of the story.
- I asked some of my pupils to retell the story using their
drawings.

As a Kindergarten teacher, storytelling is one of the most effective

Reflect strategies that I used in teaching. I use storytelling to get their
attention then impart knowledge. I am more confident that by
using other strategies in storytelling will improve my learners’ skills
and ability.

I believe that by storytelling we are inviting them to read more

books and build the love for reading in an early stage. I hope that
we can have more time to do it in our class.
