Chapter 1. Introduction

Due to the fast-paced lifestyle we currently lead, changes in our surroundings and

society are actually helping us to adjust to this fast-paced lifestyle. We do not have to leave

our home and wait outside for a while before filling out a form so that we can register. We

may now register from the convenience of our homes with just one click. An international

trend today is online registration.

Online registration is the process of completing a template or form with the required

information while using a mobile device, laptop, or desktop to access the internet. Online

registration is now available for both humans and animals, notably dogs. Since various

nations throughout the world are currently adopting this type of registration, online dog

registration is not a brand-new concept.

Australia, particularly the south, has been utilizing this approach since July 1, 2018,

according to Good Living. The name of their platform is "Dog and Cats Online." is a

microchipped data base connected to the local council's dog and cat registration, regulations

order, approved assistance for dogs, racing greyhounds, and registered breeders. Registration

and updating of the data on cats and dogs are free of charge. This system's goal is to reduce

the amount of paper certificates and forms that are easily lost.

A further purpose is to assist in laying the foundation for the World Health

Organization's Zero by 30 initiative. By the year 2030, there should be no more rabies-related

human fatalities in dogs.

The Quezon City government in the Philippines has its own method for complying

with RA 9482, often known as the Anti-Rabies Act of 2007.

The announcement of the law, which would require all pet owners to register their

animals and implant them with microchips the size of a grain of rice, was just the first step,
according to Dr. Ana Marie Cabel, the veterinarian for Quezon City, on September 28, 2018.

The microchip would have all the relevant data, including the owner's address and the pet's

vaccination history. If a pet is microchipped and registered, it will be simpler for the owner to

locate it. A scanner will be distributed to every barangay in Quezon City to determine

whether or not the dog or cat has been registered. This is another method of immunizing.

Section 7 of the RA 9482 mandates that local government units (LGUs) ensure that all

canines are immunized, registered, and have received an immunization. Because of this,

researchers developed "Online Registration of Dogs," which would greatly facilitate finding a

specific breed of dog from a particular pet owner.

This Registration System is a system that refers to dog information system. This

study would turn the manual system into a computerized system. It facilitates the

organization of dog vaccination, immunization, and other record-keeping activities for the

BHW/Barangay Official. With the help of this system, searching, updating, adding, and

removing of data would be simple.

A computerized system will reduce the loss of information records and difficulty in

locating someone's file, which frequently occur in a manual system. We created this system

to force the health center to purchase cutting-edge equipment, save time on labor-intensive

tasks, and make it simple to submit monthly reports and records.

Chapter 2. The problem

The study wants to design the registration of dogs in NHA Santa Fe. This

study aims to inform the Barangay of the number of dogs registered.

2.1 Statement of the problem

This study aims to answer the following:

2.1.1. What methods of preserving and maintaining the dogs' records are

currently used in the gated community?

2.1.2. What difficulties does the employee face when maintaining the dog

records?

2.1.3. What challenges does the owner have when filling out the dog records

form through online?

2.2 Objectives of the study

The study's overarching goal is to establish Barangay Maricaban's NHA's

online dog registration system. to ascertain the current state of the NHA Barangay

Maricaban's dog registration system. to outline the difficulties faced during the

manual registration of canines in the mentioned Barangay. To list the characteristics

that will be incorporated into the suggested system to eliminate the manual

registration process for canines. to determine how widely the proposed system is

acceptable.

2.3 Scope and limitations of the project

Information on the dogs, including their registration number, tag number,

owner photo, name, gender, age in months, color, markings, mode of acquisition,
breed, name of the owner, address, and contact information, will be available in the

online registration system for dogs. Only two user levels are permitted by the system:

admin/barangay authorities and sub-admin/owner. To protect the accounts of dog

owners, the admin is given log-in information. The system administrator has full

access to all functionalities. Owners of dogs can examine their own dogs' records,

including the immunization and vaccination records, in the meanwhile.

The proposed system has the following limitations: it can only be used with

web browsers; it depends on the internet and its performance depends on an internet

connection; it cannot be used for studies involving other animals; it can only be

evaluated by designated personnel or authorized individuals; and, finally, it can only

be used for NHA Barangay Maricaban in Santa Fe, Cebu.

2.4 Significance of the study

This study provides data information gathered regarding on Registration of

Dogs. In which the study beneficial to the following:

Community. to learn more about the registration of their specific dog, in order

to ensure the safety of their neighbourhood.

Officials and Health Care. to safeguard the accounts of dog owners and learn

more about the pets that are registered in the aforementioned barangay.

LGU. adopt the study and gauge how the other barangays feel about it.

Dog Owners. to ensure the environment's safety for people. Protect yourself

from deadly and life-threatening illnesses like rabies and distemper.

Dogs. The dog's job is to encourage the immune system just a little bit by

getting it to detect the antigens there. Canine distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, Lyme
disease, canine influenza, leptospirosis, and kennel cough can all be prevented in dogs

with vaccination.

Future Researchers. They would learn knowledge about their position from

this study. It enhances the researcher's programming knowledge and capabilities.

studying the results in order to develop a much wider perspective and exceptional

programming skills. The researchers will get the chance to work together on this topic

and combine their individual ideas.

Chapter 3. Project Planning

3.1 Software Development Life Cycle

Software Development Life Cycle is a method for measuring and improving

the development process. It is a framework that define the tasks that must be

completed at each stage of the software development process. The life cycle describes

a way for enhancing software quality and the entire development process.

3.1.2. Planning

The researchers plan this study to provide a valid and reliable

information in this propose system. The following are the stages on how the

researchers plan to achieve those objectives in terms of registration dogs in the

said Barangay.

Analyzing Requirements Stage

This is a preliminary stage in which the researchers receive vital

information about the online registration of dogs. During this stage, the

researcher see that the old system is not computerized in keeping dog records

and there aren’t registration activities in the said barangay. However, this

study address to provide computerized and online registration activities in the

said Barangay.

Planning Stage

At this point, the development team or researcher identifies crucial

concerns such as cost and the essential requirements to suit the objectives of

computerizing dog data and an online platform. Simply the planning step

serves as a feasibility study, with one of the goals being to effectively execute

the proposed system while reducing risks.

Design Stage

The purpose of this system at this stage is to generate a design plan

based on specified software specifications. Everyone in the mentioned

community who is active in the development should provide comments and

recommendations. The researcher also mentions a shortened approach for

gathering input on the documentation.

Building Stage

At this point, the real software development process begins. Because

there is already a template, developers and programmers should rigorously

follow it.

Testing Stage

Software testing is crucial for discovering bugs, defects, and other

possible issues. During this step, the researcher should fix the developed

system so that the outcome accepts the requirements for online registration

successfully.

Deployment Stage

This is the final stage of the development process, in which the

software's online dog registration is implemented in NHA Barangay

Maricaban. Some organizations choose to take this step cautiously through

first beta testing before official implementation.

The following are the advantage and disadvantage of proposing system;

The advantages of proposed system;

Easier, faster and more efficient in locating dog files.

Online registration data submission is secured in term of registering

dogs.

Accessibility of time and place in registering online.

Through online registration can less paper to good environment

Using online registration system, the participants can simply register at

their convenience and submit their information immediately.

Online registration reducing or eliminating the manual registration of

dogs.

Whenever the participants need to make changes in their information,

they can easily update through online and it would immediately reflect

on the proposed system.

Through online registration compiling documents decrease the risk of

errors that lead to dissatisfied participants.

No triple registration all data on scanners are updated on daily basis.

Ability to provide recipient organizations with reminders/ notes.

Due to some circumstances, if they lost their dog the dog tags will

help. Anyone can check the license number through online.

In case of any dispute, a registration certificates gives the right to

prove their ownership.

The disadvantage of proposed system;

Errors in registration is still occur.

High investment cost.

Low connectivity of internet.

3.1.3. Design

This is how the registration of dogs in NHA, Barangay Maricaban works;

The Barangay Maricaban post the link in their Facebook page to scattered

information for registration through online. The dog owners in the community will

visit the Facebook to register. They have to open the link and fill up, after they fill up

the system will prompt that they are successfully registered and the system sent a

messages and email. The purpose of sending messages or email is to verified that

those phone number or email that they registering is correct. The information that the

dog owners filled is saved automatically in the barangay system. The barangay will

manage the dog records now and then, if there is an update the sub-admin can see by

logging in their individual’s account.

Furthermore, the system could not only cater registration and logging in, more

specifically from updating and confirmation, but it will also be used if the dog owners

want to have certificate of dogs, certificates authority to travel and etc. The barangay

well assessing their concern and providing dog owners the right or the best practices

on how to handle dogs in good manner seminar.

4.2 Technical Feasibility

The researchers have the required hardware, internet resources, and network

sources, such as a computer set-up and others to complete the system. The front-end

of the system may be created and designed using an all-in-one IDE named "Visual

Studio-IDE and Code Editor" from one of the leading companies, Microsoft. The IDE

is simple to use and can be implemented on any platform or language. The system

was built mostly in C#, using C# for Android and IOS.

4.2.1. Hardware Specifications

The Visual Studio IDE has several minimum hardware requirements

for laptop and desktop computers, which are as follows:

A CPU with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz or higher. Quad-core processors or

higher are recommended.

2 GB RAM; 8 GB RAM is preferred (2.5 GB minimum if running on a virtual

machine).

Hard disk space: Depending on the features installed, a minimum of 800MB

up to 210 GB of available space is required; typical installations require 20-50

GB of free space.
