before - after

We use 'before' to show that an action is done sooner than another.


Ex:- I always brush my teeth before I go to bed.
So, brushing my teeth happens 1st and going to bed happens 2nd. (1 before 2).

We use 'after' to show that an action is done later than another.


Ex:- He sometimes watches TV after he does his homework.
So, watching TV happens 2nd and doing his homework happens 1st. (2 after 1).
