FAITHFULNESS AND LOYALTY BY DAG HEWARD MILLS [1st Corinthians 4:2
**SERMON NOTES**
- God requires all of us to be faithful, which, essentially, is a requirement to be constant,
to remain the same, and to be unwavering in doing the same thing [The work of God] This is the basis for all our rewards in heaven [Matthew 25:23] - It's not just important for you to be good, but it is important to be faithful. Also, faithful people are not so easy to come about. [Proverbs 20:6] - In order to build a great Church, we need to have faithful people. - God blesses and promotes faithful people. He watches how faithful you are with little things and then blesses you with more Luke 16:10 - Disloyalty comes in stages - Stages of Disloyalty ● An Independent Spirit [Psalms 95:7] That is, doing things your own way. God Has made us sheep and a sheep are dependent, a sheep follows and obeys. God wants us to be sheep and not snakes. Snakes don't follow anybody. We must value being God's helpers in this modern world. In the Church, being independent is not a great thing. No one must follow the spirit of satan or the serpent. [Luke 14:11] ● Offense [Matthew 24:10] It is impossible that a man will not be offended [Luke 17:1] but we must keep our spirits free of offense. Once you stay in the ministry, there will be things that will offend you and if you don't get rid of those hurt and offenses, you will be cut off. Offense is like a boil or infection. Be careful of hurts that will not get healed. If you are offended, you will lose your ministry ● Passivity. After people are offended, they become passive or calm and they are no longer as active or involved as they used to be. We must be zealous and continually full of energy to serve The Lord. We must not cool down in serving God [Jeremiah 48:10] We must rise and do greater works for God. [John 14:12] ● The Critical Stage [Philippians 2:14] Criticizing and speaking against God's servants. It is wrong to criticize God's servant as Miriam did in Numbers 12. God hears every time you speak against God's servant and considers it doing the works of the devil. God’s blessings flow when we stop pointing fingers [Isaiah 58:9-10] ● Political Stage [2nd Samuel 15] This involves talking to people and forming groups within The Church who are not happy with certain things. Nobody should follow a rebellion or political groupings. ● Deception God allows His servants to look weak, but don't let that deceive you. ● Open Rebellion Many people are secretly involved in rebellion but in the long run, they can’t hold it anymore and it comes out. ● Execution Lucifer was cast down, and Judas and Absalom were destroyed
