Introduction

Water is necessary and fundamental to life. Water


is a molecular substance that has a unique
chemical and physical properties related to
functions in the human body. However, water
itself can cause skin irritation as demonstrated by
occlusion experiments.
Functional damage of the skin is shown by
increase water loss.
Factors that might account for the irritancy of
water include pH, hardness, osmolarity,
temperature etc.
The chemical content of water may also be
another factor. Water rich in calcium salts is likely
to irritate skin.

Aim

PH Level Test of Bottled Water.


Requirements: Bottled waters of different
brands, Liquid pH indicator, Glasses.

Procedure:

1. Take 10-15 ml of water samples in different


glasses.

2. Add 4-5 drops of Liquid pH indicator.

3. Observe the change in colour.

According to the results:

1. Bisleri bottled water had a pH of 12 making


it Alkaline in nature.

2. Kinley bottled water had a pH of 9 making


it a Weak Alkali in nature.

3. Zurica bottled water had a pH of 10 making


it Alkaline in nature.

4. Aquafina bottled water had a pH of 8


making it Neutral in nature.

5. Ever Blu bottled water had a pH of 7


making it Neutral in nature.
