 PRAKATA: PENGARAH : BAHAGIAN PERANCANGAN DAN PENYELIDIKAN DASAR PENDIDIKAN
FOREWORD: DIRECTOR: EDUCATIONAL PLANNING AND RESEARCH DIVISION

Bahagian Perancangan dan Penyelidikan Dasar Pendidikan menghasilkan perangkaan

pendidikan setiap tahun untuk digunakan sebagai sumber rujukan dalam aktiviti seperti
penggubalan dasar, perancangan program pembangunan pendidikan, penyelidikan, penilaian
dan pemantauan. Perangkaan pendidikan yang tepat dan sahih juga digunakan sebagai
input untuk menganalisis trend pendidikan serta menghasilkan indikator dalam penerbitan di
peringkat antarabangsa.

Perangkaan Pendidikan Malaysia 2012 mengandungi data berkaitan sekolah, guru, enrolmen,
pendidikan tertiari dan perbelanjaan pendidikan. Perangkaan ini dipaparkan mengikut
peringkat pendidikan dan jenis institusi pendidikan. Seterusnya, indikator pendidikan utama
dipersembahkan dalam bentuk carta bagi menunjukkan trend pendidikan negara.

Saya berharap Perangkaan Pendidikan Malaysia 2012 akan digunakan sebagai panduan dan rujukan oleh pihak
perancang, para penyelidik dan semua pihak yang berkepentingan di dalam dan luar negara. Akhir kata, saya ingin
merakamkan ucapan terima kasih dan penghargaan kepada semua pihak atas kerjasama dan komitmen yang
diberikan dalam menjayakan penerbitan buku ini.

The Educational Planning and Research Division produces educational statistics every year to be used as reference
in activities such as policy formulation, planning of educational development programmes, research, evaluation and
monitoring. Accurate and reliable statistics is used as input for trend analysis, as well as to produce indicators which
are published in international publications.

The Malaysia Educational Statistics 2012 provides data on schools, teachers, enrolment, tertiary education and
educational expenditure. These data are displayed according to education levels and types of educational institutions.
Furthermore, key education indicators are presented in charts to indicate trends in education.

I hope the Malaysia Educational Statistics 2012 will serve as a guide and reference to policy planners, researchers
and all stakeholders in general. Finally, I would like to express my appreciation to all those who have given their
cooperation and commitment in making this publication possible.
