Calibration of the Weighing Bearing using

Hyper Terminal and Laptop

-- with check weights --
this presentation is a standard procedure to calibrate
the weighing bearing for rotor feeders
the shown parameters and calibration figures are examples only
and may be slightly different for each individual plant

for actual parameters please refer to the

corresponding backup files and data sheets
the weighing bearing is NOT available for the
coal feeder DRW
the weighing bearing is used for e.g. slow turning feeders
to control the infeed of the rotor
in this way fluctuations of the rotor load may be avoided
the weighing bearing can also be calibrated
without check weights
since this weighing device will only control the load in the feeder
small deviations will not influence the accuracy of the feeding system

for calibration without check weights

refer to the corresponding presentation
2 additional load cells are installed
between the bearing on the infeed side
and the suspension
to carry out a calibration the following preconditions are required

> feeder must be completely empty

> feeder must not be running

> slide gate between rotor and silo must be completely closed

> equipment must be in manual or local mode

link the Laptop to the CSC controller or to the LCB

Laptop connection at
the CSC controller
X17
Laptop connection at
the LCB

LCB = Local Control Box

launch Hyper Terminal on your PC
press keys CTRL + A to start communication
if the Laptop is connected to the LCB
go into CPI1 ->Server to connect to the CSC controller
if the Laptop is connected to the CSC, skip this page
if the main menu page looks like this, the CSC is still on
-- one line display --
to go to full page display, press CTRL + X
from the CSC main menu go into 7 Configuration
press key 7 to go in
go into 1 Syst-Parameter
press key 1 to go in
go into Entry free and change to yes
then go to Exit and press Enter
now go into A Feeding meas.
press key A
check if all parameters here are still unchanged
for nom Feedload in kg and mV refer to actual data sheet
nom Feedload in kg and mV
go into >> Calibrate
Value shows the actual load

Load-cell load displays the actual output of the load cell

check if all parameters here are still unchanged
go to line Commands and press keys Enter 1 Enter to clear the memory
after the memory has been cleared Value will indicate an unrated figure
Calibration fact will indicate 0065536
Dead load will indicate 0000000
go to line Commands and press keys Enter 2 Enter
to set the scale to zero
after the scale has been set to zero Value will display + 000 kg
Dead load will indicate the corresponding factor
input the calibration setpoint in Calib.-setpoint
see next pages
no. of check weights can be 1 ... 3 pcs
the actual weight is engraved on each check weight
if an eye bolt is installed here ...
... suspend the check weight(s) from the eye bolt

check the actual data sheet for Calib.-setpoint input

calibration setpoint to input in Calib.-setpoint
WITH eye bolt installed
if NO eye bolt is installed here
suspend the check weight(s) from the axis of the bearing
input the actual total weight of the check weight(s) in Calib.-setpoint
input of Calib.-setpoint
with the check weight(s) in position - figures Value
and Load-cell load will increase
with the check weight(s) in position go to line Commands
and press keys Enter 3 Enter to carry out the calibration
after the calibration has been carried out figures Value
and Calib.-setpoint must match
Calibration fact will indicate the corresponding factor
exit this menu by pressing keys CTRL + A
don‘t forget to take off the check weights !!!
