The company's history

Tata Power is regarded as one of the major power firms in the private sector today. Tata
Power, formerly Tata Electric, was one of the first companies in India to break through the
limits of power generating. With the name "Tata Hydroelectric Power Supply Corporation,"
the company was established in 1911. The "Tata Hydroelectric Power Supply Business" and
the "Andhra Valley Power Supply Company" were amalgamated into one company in 1916.
As previously said, the corporation is regarded as one of the leading actors in the private
power industry in the contemporary world. The firm is based in Mumbai, but it has intentions
to expand outside the city to become a major national player. Not only that, but the firm also
intends to broaden its horizons by dabbling in the realms of energy and broadband
communication.

The first power plant in India was a hydroelectric facility built by Tata Power at Khopoli in
1915. (72 MW). The second hydroelectric plant (75 MW) was built at Bhivpuri in 1919,
while the third plant in Bhira was built in 1922. (300 MW). Tata Power is recognised as a
major participant in the nation because of its several power projects, including a 1,350 MW
thermal power plant in Trombay, Mumbai; a 475 MW power plant in Jamshedpur,
Jharkhand; and an 87 MW thermal power plant in Belgaum.

Tata Power has about 2785 MW of installed generating capacity around the nation. The firm
has emerged as a pioneer in the Indian power sector, with a track record of excellence in
production, customer service, and consistent development. Tata Power is involved in all
aspects of the power business, including generation, transmission, and distribution (thermal,
hydro, solar, wind, and liquid fuel).

Tata Power, as previously said, is one of India's pioneers in energy production, inspired by a
daring vision. It has been servicing Mumbai consumers for over ninety years and has grown
its reach across the nation. In addition to Mumbai and Delhi, the corporation has generating
capacity in Jojobera, Jharkhand, and Karnataka.

Tata Power, formerly known as Tata Electric, was the first company in India to generate
electricity nine decades ago. In 1911, the firm was founded as the Tata Hydroelectric Power
Supply Company, but in 1916, it was renamed after the merger of two companies, the Tata
Hydroelectric Power Supply Company and the Andhra Valley Power Supply Company. It is
now the country's biggest private power utility, having started as a licensee in Mumbai and
with ambitious intentions to grow from a mostly Mumbai–centric company to a significant
national player in electricity, energy, and broadband communication.

In 1915, Tata Power commissioned India's first power plant, a 72-MW hydroelectric station
in Khopoli, followed by a 75-MW hydroelectric station in Bhivpuri in 1919, and a 300-MW
hydroelectric facility in Bhira in 1922. Tata Power is India's biggest integrated private power
firm and the most reliable power provider to Mumbai, with these three hydro plants plus a
1,350 MW thermal power station in Trombay, Mumbai; a 475 MW power station near
Jamshedpur in Jharkhand; and an 87 MW thermal power plant in Belgaum.

With about 2785 MW of installed generating capacity, Tata Power Company Limited is
India's biggest private sector power company. With a track record of excellence, customer
service, and steady expansion, the firm has emerged as a pioneer in the Indian electricity
market. Tata Power operates in all areas of the power industry, including generation (thermal,
hydro, solar, wind, and liquid fuel), transmission, and distribution.

Tata Power, India's biggest private sector power provider, has a reputation for reliability built
up over almost nine decades. The company is looking forward to another year of steady
growth, increased customer value, and consistent power delivery.

Tata Power pioneered the production of energy in India, guided by a bold vision. It has been
serving Mumbai customers for over ninety years and has expanded its influence throughout
the country. It is now the biggest private participant in the industry in the nation. The firm has
generating capacity in Jojobera, Jharkhand, and Karnataka, in addition to Mumbai and Delhi.

The Mumbai power business, which has a unique blend of Thermal and Hydro Power
produced at the Thermal Power Station, Trombay, and the Hydro Electric Power Stations at
Bhira, Bhivpuri, and Khopoli, accounts for 1797 MW of Tata Power's installed power
producing capacity. Its broad production capabilities enables the firm to provide low-cost
energy, providing its customers more bang for their buck.
