EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
(Landslide and Flood)
Lesson 2
OBJECTIVES
▪Recognize disaster or emergency
situations
▪ Demonstrate proper response during,
and after a disaster or an emergency
situation
NATURAL HAZARDS
▪ Natural hazards are causes of danger that may occur
unexpectedly caused by nature that results to heavy
destruction.

▪ This includes landslides, volcanic eruptions,


earthquakes, typhoon, tsunami, etc.
FLOOD
▪ This is an overflow of water that completely covers land. This
occurs when bodies of water like rivers and dikes overflow with
water due to heavy rains
What to do?...
 Have an emergency kit ready.
 Evacuate right away upon the advise of the authorities.
 Be alert and stay tune to latest news.
 If your house has second floor, stay there and keep safe
your valuable things.
LANDSLIDE
▪ This usually occurs after a continuous downpour of heavy rains. It is
a downward falling or sliding of a mass of soil, rock, debris or earth
down a slope.
What to do?...
 Avoid landslide prone areas.
 Evacuate right away upon the advises of the authorities
 Tune in to latest news over the radio/TV
