1. Make a timeline showing the significant events of Rizal’s boyhood years and early
education.
2. Compare and contrast your childhood and early education with Rizal’s own experiences
in the same period.

Rizal's childhood and early education were very similar to my own. As a child, he would often go
out into the streets to explore and have fun. He was known for his curiosity and wanderlust,
which is something that I can relate to as well. I remember when I was younger, I used to love
exploring the neighborhood around my house, looking for new things to do and see. We would
often play games like hide-and-seek or tag while we walked around the streets. Sometimes we
would run into other children who were also playing outside and join them in their game.

In contrast to Rizal, I am not born into a wealthy and one of the biggest families in the country. I
am from a middle-class family. My father is a seafarer and my mom is a housewife, so we
always have enough food on our table, but we do not have much money to buy expensive
things like toys and gadgets. However, I was lucky enough to have a good education because
my parents sacrificed their time and money so that they could send me and both my sisters to
school.
