10 Kitchen Tools with their Uses

1. Knife- Use for slicing, cutting, chopping, dicing, mincing, peeling, separating
vegetable, fruits or any ingredients use in cooking.
2. Ladle- Use to dish soups of all kinds from the pot to the soup bowl.
3. Fork- Use for poking, stabbing and cutting soft-ish foods. Used for eating with as
well as for splitting food into smaller pieces.
4. Measuring Cup- Use to measure the volume of liquid or bulk solid cooking
ingredients such as flour and sugar
5. Measuring Spoon- Use to measure an amount of an ingredient, either liquid or
dry, when cooking
6. Strainer- Use to strain liquids away from other ingredients but also to
occasionally sift fine ingredients away from larger ingredients
7. Bowl- Use to handle and prepare food
8. Kitchen Shears- use in snipping herbs, cutting open food packaging, and
breaking down poultry.
9. Tongs- Use in flipping or turning foods during cooking, removing cooked foods
from boiling water and handling hot foods from the oven or grill.
10. Chopping Board-Use as a protective surface on which to cut or slice things.
