Each 21st Century skill is broken into one of three categories:

Learning skills

Literacy skills

Life skills

Learning skills teaches pupils about the mental processes they’ll need to adapt to and enhance in
today’s workplace. Students’ ability to discern facts, publication venues, and the technology behind
them is the emphasis of literacy skills. There is a major emphasis on identifying reliable sources and
factual information in order to distinguish it from the disinformation that abounds on the internet. Life
skills examine intangible aspects of a student’s daily life. These intangibles are concerned with both
personal and professional attributes.

Recognizing that traditional educational systems have mostly failed to prepare students for such
challenges, the global education community has become increasingly vocal and mobilized in support of
the necessary changes.

Allow your students to lead the learning process. The finest learning settings are those in which students
feel empowered to learn. Teachers that are effective are more like moderators, providing inspiration
and guiding students to discover things for themselves.

To begin, you must consider what 21st century abilities are. These will very certainly be related to
personal and transferable abilities. Problem solving, interpersonal skills, leadership and the ability to
work effectively with others are just a few examples.

Read a lot. In additional to what you read on the internet, read everything you can get your hands on:
books, periodicals, newspapers and manuals that come with the products you buy. Then write a
summary of what you’ve read.
