Topic: SOLVING LINEAR EQUATION IN ONE VARIABLE
Reference: Mathematics 7; Quarter 2- Module 9
Materials: Laptop, chalk.
III. Learning Procedure
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. Preliminary
1. Prayer
May we all stand to feel the
presence of the Lord _____ kindly
lead us a prayer.
(In the name of the Father, of the Son,
and the Holy Spirit, Amen.)
2. Greetings
Good Morning Class!
Good Morning Sir.
Before you take your sit, kindly
arrange your chairs and pick up
those litters around you.
Then, you may now take your sit.
Thank you, Sir.

3. Checking of Attendance
Secretary who is absent today?
No one is absent Sir.
That’s good to hear class! Very
good
B. Lesson Proper
a. Review
Class what was our lesson
yesterday?
The lesson yesterday sir was about the
equations and inequalities.
Very good!
What is equation?
Anybody? Student; An equation is a statement that
two numbers or two expressions are
equal.
Very good!
C. Motivation
Before we proceed to our new
lesson today, we will first have a
game. We will use a sheet of
paper. You will write your answer
on it and present or show your
answer in the class. And also
determine whether it is one
variable or not.
Instruction:
a. You will be group in to two.
b. Present or show your answer in
class then determine whether
the equation is a solution or
not.
(Students Perform)

So, let’s begin!
Evaluate:
a. x+7=16 when x=9
b. 3y-7=13; y=-2
c. 15w+5=80; w=5
d. 21x-12=96; x=3
Solution:
1. x+7= 16
9+7= 16
16= 16, true
Hence, x=9, is a solution.
2. 3y-7= 13
3(-2) -7= 13
-6-7= 13
-13= 13, false
Thus, y=-2 is not a solution of
3y-7= 13.
3. 15w +5 = 80
15(5)+5= 80
75+5=80
Hence, x=5, is solution of 15w
+5 = 80
4. 21x -12= 96
21(3) -12=96
63-12=96
51=96, False
Thus, x=3 is not a solution of
21x -12= 96
Now you may take your set.
(Student take their seat)
D. Discussion
Now, I will discuss to you the
linear equation in one variable.
Class what is linear equation in
one variable?
(Raising their hands)
Yes _____?

Student: Linear equations in one
variable is an equation that can be
written in the form ax+b=c. where a, b,
and c are real numbers and a a≠0.
Very Good!
The linear equation in one variable
are also equations in which the
highest degree of every term is
one, there is one possible solution
of the equation and there is only
one variable present in it.
Now let have these examples using
the different property of equation
and later on we will try to graph
the answer or solution;
1. 7𝑥 = −14
2. 15a-2=13
x
3. =7
4
4. |x +2|=5
5. │3x - 5│- 4= 10 1. 7x=-14
7x=-14
7x=-14
7 =7
x=-2
Checking:
7x=-14
7(-2)=14
-14=-14
2. 15a-2=13
15a=13+2
15a=15
15 15
a=1
Checking:
15a-2=13
15(1)-2=13
15-2=13
13=13
(Continue Solving the remaining
examples)

Now, let's try to graph the solution
1.
2.
(continue graphing)
E. Application
From this time class, I want you to
solve here in the board.
From the given replacement set,
determine the solution set of the
given equation. Then graph it.
Number 1.
Yes, ____!
1. 2𝑥 – 6 = 4; {3, 4, 5, 6, 7}
1. x=5
2𝑥 – 6 = 4
2 (5) – 6 = 4
10 – 6 = 4
4=4
2. 5c=4c+13; {12, 13, 14, 15, 16}
2. c=13
5c=4c+13
5(13)=4(13)+13
65=52+13
65=65
3. 20y+15=75, {2,3,4,5,6}
3. y=3
20y+15=75
20(3)+15=75
60+15=75
75=75
4. │3𝑎 − 4│ − 11 = 15
4. │3𝑎 − 4│ − 11 = 15
3𝑎 – 4 = 26
3a=26+4
3a=30
3 30
a=10
or

3𝑎 – 4 = −26
3𝑎 = −22
𝑎 = − 22
3
Very Good!
Thank you, Class.
Let’s give five claps to them.
(Student clapping)
Is there any questions?
None so far Sir.
Is it clear now?
Yes Sir, Clear as Crystal.
IV. EVALUATION
Direction get ½ crosswise and answer the following equation and show the graph
1. 27w-5= 49, w=2
2. 13x+10= 62, x=4
3. 8y -24= 16, y= 3
4. 5x+10= 13, x= 3/5
5. 12x-9= 62, x=6
V. ASSIGNMENT
1. What is the value of x that would make the equation 4x – 8 = 12 correct?
2. What are the values of x in the equation │x + 5│ = 4?
