Enhancement of School Benches into Learning Sheds
Introduction:
This project is a simple roof structure, typically made of wood, metal, or cement used as a
storage space, a shelter for students. This project is a place where students can study, prepare, relax for
their activities and upcoming exam and it can be their temporary comfort zone. This project where a
learning sheds can add value to our campus, learning sheds as part of our school complex can make a
difference to the day-to-day school activities. School benches are one of the facilities that students need
in schools especially that in here they can make their projects, meet with friends, classmates and relax in
their free time. In Balugo National High School, there are benches but they do not have roof such that
most students prefer not to use them due to either extreme heat or rain.
This project intends to enhance the school benches into learning sheds.( According to Ramona
Persuad (2014), From the front door and school grounds to the classroom, aesthetic of learning spaces
impact brain function and influence how students feel when they are in school, as well as how they feel
about their school).
Purpose or Need
This project is a necessity for students as they will be needing the learning sheds for group
meetings, making of projects, self study, and space to relax from academic stress. This project will serve
as a better learning sheds not just for students and also for faculty members. In this project when the
library are fully occupied the students can use the learning sheds to do their school works.
Project Description
In a self-contained area of the classroom known as a learning shed, students carry out independent
and self-directed learning activities. A learning center is a designated area in the classroom that provides
easy access to a range of educational resources in an engaging and effective way. Small groups of
students walk through various learning stations as part of the learning station method of education,
which enables teachers to differentiate instruction by taking into account each student's needs,
interests, and learning style. The resource center offers significant learning opportunities that are
required to support the academic and professional development plans of the students, instructors, and
staff. Additionally, it provides a setting where students can have some free time to study, create, or
complete the assignment that their teachers assigned. By enhancing the educational process, learning
resource centers are advantageous to pupils serves as a setting to introduce, reinforce, and broaden
student learning. Learning centers can act as peer learning centers or as a resource for educational
materials.
The Balugo National High School has a school benches that need to enhance into learning sheds
and has a total area of 12 sqm./sheds.
The following is the component per sheds:
