Chapter 1
THE BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT

Introduction

The options for new technology available today are numerous and, at

times, overwhelming. Religion is expanding in tandem with the advancement of

human communication technology, and the two have an impact on one another.

Specific communication is enabled by specific technology, and specific

communication leads to specific social and cultural forms.

A Web-based Management Information System is an information system

that uses Internet web technologies to deliver information and services to users

or other information systems or applications. The work principle of the traditional

C/S structure is that the user puts forward data requirements to the client

computer by application, the client computer puts those requirements to the

server by network, the server's database management system executes the data

processing mission, and then the data that the user needs is transmitted to the

client computer. Finally, the client computer completes the processing of the

needed data. The MIS helps the top-level management in goal setting, strategic

planning and evolving the business plans and their implementation. The MIS

plays the role of information generation, communication, problem identification

and helps in the process of decision-making. A Management Information System

provides background, current data and trend analysis so you have ready

information on all areas of the business. Communication technology has

progressed from simple to complex, and from the era of oral communication to
2

the era of print media, then to the era of electronic media, and finally to the era of

digital media. Today, many religions, organizations, and churches use Web-

based Management Information Systems to effectively promote and inform

people about their purpose and expand their jurisdiction. One example of this is a

Catholic Church who wants to promote, manage and educate people in their

parish. The Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church is a Catholic Church located at

Macamot, Binangonan, Rizal. It was founded in 2011 and has around 40,000

parishioners. The Order of Friars Minor Conventual (OFMConv.) is assigned to

manage the parish. The parish offers services for the sacraments, including

Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage,

and Holy Orders. The church's needs and perceived benefits influence the

decision to invest in new technologies. Between church gatherings, technology

keeps members connected.

Technology has the potential to enhance fundraising efforts. Churches can

reach out to more people with gospel content. The problem encountered in the

church is having difficulties in managing appointments for the services they offer,

which are called sacraments. Because of overlaps in scheduling, the secretary

cannot handle multiple appointments. Another problem is some parishioners

getting lost because the parish church is in a hidden place. Next is the Church is

need to enhance fundraising efforts to build and improve the Church. Lastly, is

the difficulty in the Church volunteers who are active and inactive. Base on the

problem mention above, the project team proposed a Web Based Management

Information System for Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church to resolve the
3

problem encountered. And also, for the improvement and battlement of services

to offer by the Church.

Objectives of the Project

The main objective of the study is to develop and design a Web Based

Management Information System for Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church that

features the following

1. Allow users to do their reservation online via web based application and

check available schedules

2. Allows user to pay their reservations online

3. Allows user to monitor and manage the records of the volunteers

4. Evaluate the quality of the developed system using quality assurance test.

5. Determine the users acceptance level of the developed Web Based

Management Information System

4

Scope and Limitation of the Project

The study focuses on the design and development of the Management

System for Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church which is located at Binangonan,

Rizal during the calendar year 2022-2023

The proposed system was developed using PHP, Microsoft Sql 2019,

HTML and JavaScript. Web-based Management System will be having four (4)

user type which provides various functions for the finance, secretary, parish

priest, and sfap media. The finance can manage the payment transaction of

online appointments, can manipulate the fundraising content and donation

transactions; while the secretary can edit and update the schedule of masses,

can monitor the available schedule for appointments and manipulate the

checklist requirements file attachment in online appointment; the parish priest

can access the announcements of mass intentions and live streams link, view the

articles about the Parish and view the history of the parish; and the sfap media

head has the privelege to manage the photography site and update it in every

event, monitor the location, and can monitor the organizational chart. The Web-

based Management System will provide different features which can be useful to

the end users.

The researchers employs software development ___ as the project

development framework. There were a total of seventeen (17) respondents of the

project which are composed of one (3) parish priest, one (1) secretary, one (1)

sfap media head, one (1) finance head, selected volunteers in eleven (11)
5

pamayanans from San Francisco ng Assisi Parish Church who access the

acceptance testing of the developed.

Significance of the Project

The project team studied and developed this Web based management

information system for Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church to be beneficial to

the following.

Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church. This project will benefit the church

itself to help the church in announcing their future plans, such as schedule of

masses, events, celebration of patronizing, and other matters. This will also help

the church to show their activities to the public, proving that they are using the

donations they receive from parishioners in the right way. And also by publicizing

the activities of the church, it will encourage the youth, young adults and seniors,

to join those activities, gather more volunteers, and to attend the weekly services

of the church. And lastly the developed project will help the church to manage all

the appointments, records, reports through database.

People who lives within the vicinity of the church. They will be informed

that there is a church that they can worship and pray without leaving their own

barangay. They will also learned about church's history, and all community

patrons through "About us" section. For those who are willing to be a church

volunteer it will be much easier for them to get enlist because the project is

having a enlisting form for the volunteers, this specific feature of the project will

also be applicable to those people who are living in other barangay. There will be

online appointment booking for event such as christening and wedding.

6

Parishioners. This project will benefit the parishioners in terms of updates

and announcements on church activities and schedules, they will be updated in

sudden changes of the church plans. The parishioners can also enlist

themselves to be church volunteers using our online enlistment form.

Parish secretariat. This project is going to use database, this will help the

secretariat to store and to manage the data of appointments, list and records of

church volunteers.

Project team. It will help the project team to be more productive and to

have perseverance whenever they are going to plan a project in the near future.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDY

This section discussed about the systems related to the project that may

help in developing the system. The main purpose of a review of related systems

is to analyze scientific works by other developers that the user used as

reference.

Utilization of Technology

Technology is a body of knowledge concerned with the creation of tools,

the processing of actions, and the extraction of materials. The term "technology"

is broad, and everyone interprets it differently. In short, we use technology to

accomplish various tasks in our daily lives. We can define technology as

products and processes that help us simplify our lives. We use technology to

broaden our capabilities, making people the most important component of any

technological system. Technology is also a scientific application used to solve

problems. However, it is critical to understand that technology and science are

distinct subjects that collaborate to complete specific tasks or solve problems.

echnology is a collection of techniques and methods used to achieve specific

objectives or goals. It entails the use of various information technology tools,

such as computers and mobile phones, to speed up the flow of information from

one location to another or from one person to another. In any organization, the

goal of technology is to change the way we communicate with one another. It has
10

influenced human behavior in many areas, including education, religion, health,

transportation, communication, industry, and so on.

Advances in technology have a way of changing the world around us. With

an institution as old as religion, the means and methods of reaching your

audience are bound to change over time. While there’s no real replacement for

community worship and togetherness, technology is making it easier for people

to study religion and feel connected to their faith. Of course, the first

technological leap to drastically affect the spread of religion (and the spread of all

information) was the printing press. Prior to the invention of movable type, written

documents could only be duplicated manually, a painstaking process only a few

were even able to undertake. Since the written word was not proliferated as it is

now, most people were illiterate. It fell to religious leaders to read and interpret

teachings for their congregation; therefore, the only way to worship was to attend

organized services.

As a special social ideology, religion is one of the social cultures. In the

long history of mankind, it has been playing a pivotal role. Religion is also

expanding with the development of human communication technology, and the

two influence each other. Specific technology makes specific communication

possible, and specific communication leads to specific social and cultural forms.

The development of communication technology has gone from simple to

complex, and from the period of oral communication, to the period of print media,

and then to the period of electronic media and the period of digital media. With

the development of communication technology, religion has experienced its

11

formation, privilege era, popularity, secularization, and pluralism era. People can

see that every change in communication technology has led to religious change.

Based on a thorough study, this paper clarifies the relationship between

communication technology and religion, which influences and restricts each

other. It also provides a theoretical basis and beneficial exploration for religious

governance in China.(Zhao, Fangyuan. 2013).

According to James Clement van Pelt, program coordinator of Yale

University’s initiative in religion, science, and technology, Advances in

communication technology, from the printing press to the radio to the Internet,

have almost always resulted in rapid and profound changes in religious practice.

The proliferation of mobile devices such as the iPhone is currently causing a

similarly profound shift, allowing worshippers to create a personal religious

environment in an otherwise secular world while also diluting many practices

central to all religions. Hundreds of iPhone apps already allow parishioners to

take Bible quotes, Torah-chanting practice, and Buddhist prayer wheels with

them wherever they go, allowing them to practice their religions in new times and

places. The appeal of mobile devices to many religious institutions is their ability

to unite a religious community regardless of geography. Technology is a

collection of techniques, methods used in the accomplishment of certain

objectives or goals. It involves the use of various information technology tools

such as computers and mobile phones that accelerates the flow of information

from one place to another or from one individual to another. The aim of

technology in any organization is to change the way we communicate with one

12

another. It has affected the way of living among human beings in various aspects

of life which includes: education, religion, health, transport and communication,

industry etc.

Religious organization should also embrace technology in their day to day

activities. The publication and translation of the Bible into various languages has

enabled more people to be literate. People could read and understand the

scriptures themselves unlike the tradition whereby they depended on the clergy

to interpret for them. Technology can be beneficial to religion in the following

ways. Creating social media accounts for example Facebook, twitter, YouTube,

WhatsApp and e-mail, gives a platform whereby a religious organizations can

serve its congregation in various ways. Through this, the congregation can share

their thoughts and insights. The clergy can use it to share with the members as a

group or personally. It can also be used to announce social service events.

People nowadays use mobile phones to access religious texts such as e-

books, unlike the tradition whereby one would move around with heavy books.

There are also mobile Apps that can give members easy access to the bible and

other holy books such as Koran. Some religious leaders use such Apps to carry

out their sermons. Before COVID-19, live-streaming services were only an option

for congregations, but since the onset of the pandemic, live-streaming is

mandatory for their survival. Churches are using live-streaming services such as

Facebook Live, YouTube Live, Zoom, Google+ and Periscope—not to mention

the number of third-party streaming services that allow for multiple platform

simulcasting—to share words of encouragement to the online community. There

13

have been both positive and negative outcomes from the sudden influx of online

services being added to the already long list of activities churches provide their

members.

Technology have been growing continuously in many aspects of human

life, one of them is in the religious practice. For the last few years, the adoption of

information and technology for communication in church is also growing. More

and more people all around the world are turning to the internet and social media

to find personal, social, and also religious information.

Gunton 2014 in his research presented the important of information by

developing an understanding how the church uses information in learning and

the result showed that the exploration may help church organization, church

leaders and lay people to consider how information can be used to grow faith,

develop relationship, manage the church and respond the religious knowledge

As stated in Republic Act No. 10844 of the Constitution of the Republic of

the Philippines

In accordance to the law, the "Department of Information and

Communications Technology (DICT) Act of 2015" shall be the primary policy,

planning, coordinating, implementing, and administrative entity of the Executive

Branch of the government that will plan, develop, and promote the national ICT

development agenda.
14

Online Appointment Transaction

Appointment scheduling apps make meeting booking simple because

customers can see the available hours right away. Because they are integrated

with payment processors, booking apps eliminate the need for spreadsheets and

manual client booking, and they redirect clients to another website to pay. When

you use booking software, your business is always open. They input their contact

details and select the time and date from available calendar slots. Your client can

choose what type of service the meeting is for and immediately pay any

transaction fee, all without leaving your website. Online appointment systems

contribute to business growth because it’s easy for new customers to quickly fill

out a form and get into your CRM. This makes it that much easier to gain new

clients and have their data inputted without getting admin involved. The purpose

of an online booking system is to allow potential customers to self-book and pay

through your website, to securely store customer data, to manage your staff, and

to keep your business running long after you've left for the day. And that is only

scratching the surface. An online booking system is much more than just

software that allows customers to schedule appointments with your company.

The online scheduling systems are also known in many names such as online

booking application, online scheduler, online scheduling software, and more. It is

one of the most commonly used web-based applications and enables individuals
15

to securely and conveniently book their reservations and requests online via a

laptop, tablet, smartphone, computer, and other web-connected devices. One of

the solutions is to use an appointment scheduling system to manage customer

journeys and keep control of the arrival flow. We’ve compiled the most frequent

questions about appointment booking systems, and some specific questions

related to the current situation in order to provide you with all the necessary

information.

In a traditional setup, booking appointments are made over phone calls

and emails and can eat up a lot of time on both sides. Government offices are

essentially hemorrhaging resources by allowing their staff to schedule

appointments manually. Knowing that government agencies have hundreds of

visitors daily, consider how much time staff spends trying to manually plan out

the logistics of calls, text message, and email bookings.

Online appointment systems centralize the booking process into one

simplified management solution – eliminating the chances of double booking and

reducing cancellations, thereby allowing staff to serve citizens more efficiently.

Here’s how web-based appointment systems work. Online appointment

scheduling is more than simply coordinating time availability with citizens. It’s

also about managing follow-ups and planning in advance for changes in staff

availability to ensure quality service provision.

According to Gilbert K. Gidiglo (2012), he mentioned that “If the systems

used are wrought with human errors and mistakes, could there be a more

efficacious means that could minimize or solve some, if not all the problems
16

associated with the old systems”. The researchers conducted this study by

careful considerations of the above problems. Online Registration and

Reservation System for St. John the Evangelist Church aims to centralize the

management of their church events whether it’s one event at a time or multiple

and back-to-back events. The researchers will develop a system to design an

online system to efficiently process the reservation and management of the

church events, to create a database for every transaction and to make it easier to

find the availability of events using dashboard and reporting functions. The

proponents can make their

online information with reservation system easier and less timeconsuming by

using technology.

Technological advancement highly contributes to the progress and

improvement of the different sectors in the industry. Any sector must use

systematic processing for fast and efficient transactions. The use of computer

systems and applications will help different sectors further improve their

operations and transactions.

Alaa Qaffas and Trevor Berker (2012) stated in their study that they felt

that the development of an online appointment management system was

necessary because of the antiquated way in which many schools register and

schedule student appointments also other sector. In order to keep up with

growing technology, we must seek ways to make certain processes less

time consuming, more error free and more user friendly.

17

Software and Quality Testing

Software Testing is a method to check whether the actual software

product matches expected requirements and to ensure that software product is

Defect free. It involves execution of software/system components using manual

or automated tools to evaluate one or more properties of interest. The purpose of

software testing is to identify errors, gaps or missing requirements in contrast to

actual requirements. Software testing is any activity aimed at evaluating an

attribute or capability of a program or system and determining that it meets its

required results. Although crucial to software quality and widely deployed by

programmers and testers, software testing still remains an art, due to limited

understanding of the principles of software. The difficulty in software testing

stems fromthe complexity of software: we can not completely test a program with

moderate complexity. Testing is more than just debugging.

The purpose of testing can be quality assurance, verification and

validation, or reliability estimation. Testing can be used as a generic metric as

well. Correctness testing and reliability testing are two major areas of testing.

Software testing is a trade-off between budget, time and qualityQuality

Assurance in Software Testing is defined as a procedure to ensure the quality of

18

software products or services provided to the customers by an organization.

Quality assurance focuses on improving the software development process and

making it efficient and effective as per the quality standards defined for software

products. Quality Assurance is popularly known as QA Testing.

According to Testim (2022, the process of detecting flaws in a developed

product is called software testing. Additionally, it helps in the detection of flaws,

gaps, and missing requirements by determining whether the actual findings can

be reconciled with the anticipated outcomes. The last step before a product is

introduced to the market is testing. It involves looking at, analyzing, observing,

and rating several features of a product. Professional software testers employ

both manual and automated testing techniques. The testers communicate the

findings to the development team after running tests. The ultimate goal is to

provide the consumer with a high-quality product, which is why software testing is

so crucial.

Testing and quality assurance are the procedures used in software

development to guarantee that the finished product satisfies the performance and

usability standards. The identification of the initial software requirements may

also involve testing and quality assurance. Software development has historically

included testing and quality assurance. However, over the past ten years,

fundamental changes in the way many projects approach software testing have

been brought about by increases in the speed and complexity of software

delivery cycles as well as greater user expectations for quality. (Tozzi, 2022).
19

As stated by Kasurinen (2017), Configuration Management (CM),

Verification and Validation (VV), and Format Testing are some of the more

important relationships of SQA to other management and assurance activities

(FT). SQA ensures that CM activities are completed in a timely manner.

following development plans, standards, and procedures SQA monitors

and audits the following CM activities: baseline control, configuration

identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, and

configuration authentication. SQA monitors technical reviews, inspections, and

walkthroughs to ensure Verification and Validation (V&V) activities. Additionally,

SQA ensures that all actions are assigned, documented, scheduled, and

updated. At the end of each phase of the life cycle, technical reviews should be

performed. To identify issues and determine whether the product complies with

all applicable regulations.

Management Information System

Management information systems are critical for making decisions in both

professional and personal life. Decision-making is critical to the operation of an

organization. Today, there is fierce competition, and it is critical for managers to

make effective decisions in order to beat the competition. MIS allows for a more

efficient flow of information. MIS is implemented at all organizational levels. MIS

applications handle data collection, information processing, and information

control. MIS is required for the functioning, performance, and support roles.

Management information systems aid in planning, programming, controlling, and

20

making decisions. If you want to work in MIS, this is a fantastic opportunity.

Nowadays, no business can function effectively without the use of a MIS

application. Management information systems are used to collect information

from various sources and then compile it into readable reports. Supply Chain

Managers use an Information Management System to generate reports from data

collected at various stages. Nowadays, management information systems rely

heavily on technological advances and modern computational methods.

The primary goal of a Management Information System is to make

decisions that are more efficient. Data from various sources is converted into a

format for report preparation via Management Information System to aid decision

making through in-depth analysis. Any type of information can be analyzed by a

management information system. Through MIS, economic data can be collected

and assigned to various departments within an organization. The management

information system can analyze timelines from the production line as well as

quality-related data. Staff schedules and working shift arrangements can also be

managed using the Management Information System. With a management

information system, you can also edit information and communicate.

Jenifer of JIL (2017) blogger state that, the main purpose of this study is to

develop a better attendance monitoring system in JIL Church in Iligan City. This

study intends to fill such weaknesses of the proponents found. JIL Church

Attendance Monitoring System maintains a daily record of a person’s arrival and

departure time from Church. Time and attendance system are the modern days

equivalent of the paper time sheet or attendance that are done manually.
21

Through this system the leaders of the church that whose assign for the

attendance sheet are they done without struggling for maintaining daily record of

a person and makes it easy and fast for monitoring the attendance of every

attendee. An Attendance Monitoring System serves as a time log that is set up

as a computerized database. Using of this computerized database it can monitor

the attendance of every person attend in church activity, there is a difference in

recording keeping if that person is a first-timer or attendee or regular attendee.

An attendance monitoring system for a person would contain attendee history,

references and performance information.

The system contains also the person’s name, address, day, time, month

and number of persons attended that determined the level of her/his life-growth

and the inviters. The system keeps records in order and is frequently updated.

When seeking person’s information, the pastors can request certain reports to be

printed from the attendance monitoring system even for the whole attendance of

every activity for the whole month or for the whole year are automatically

calculate every datails on that activity with necessary reports and information.

According to Marakas et. al. (2006), Management information systems,

when properly defined and implemented, untapped potential for business,

industry, and government government. It may turn out to be the only way to

maintain a competitive industry posture as information becomes available fourth

important resource IT transformation presents two challenges: learning how to

use it and looking for new ways to improve management. The majority of

students have taken a hands-on course that instructs them on how to use a
22

computer Many people anticipate the hands-on introductory MIS course to be

more of the same computer usage is linked to specific requirements.

Decision making is an integral part of the functioning of any organization.

To facilitate decision making in this ever-competitive world it is imperative that

managers have the right information at the right time to bridge the gap between

need and expectation. To facilitate better flow of information adequate

Management Information Systems (MIS) is the need of the hour. Thus it is

important to have an understanding of the MIS followed in an organization by all

levels of management in order to take effective decisions. A management

information system collects and processes data (information) and provides it to

managers at all levels who use it for decision making, planning, program

implementation, and control. The MIS has many roles to perform like the decision

support role, the performance monitoring role and the functional support role. To

get a realistic and holistic view of the MIS, MIS of MCC Limited (name disguised)

was taken as a case study. To get a more detailed understanding of a particular

function of the company, we studied the need, uses and benefits of MIS with

respect to the Material Department of the company. Inventory Management was

of prime focus in our study. MCC Limited is one of the first Indian companies to

realize the potential and importance of information technology and adopt

automation and IT. The organization started computerizing its systems as early

as 1968. The organization has traveled a long way from the days in 1968 when it

was using simple keypunching machines. Significant improvements have been

made in the application systems and infrastructure. From Batch processing to on-
23

line systems, from IBM1401 to the latest UNIX and Windows 2003 based

machines it has made timely transitions determined by available technologies

and business requirements. The MIS has greatly facilitated and synchronized the

information flow in the organization and the management feels that is has played

a role in the growth and increased performance of the company. Nayak,

Gautham & Sequeira, A.H. & Senapati, Sanjay. (2012).

According to Tamime et.al. (2017), an MIS is commonly thought of as a

common database with restricted access based on personal status or function.

Because the more access there is, the greater the risk of corrupting the system,

access must be strictly on a need-to-know basis. The system will need to be

protected by a password system that is changed on a regular basis. Passwords

can be personal or based on a personal/function basis, and access frequency

can be logged against individuals in this manner.

Web based System

A web-based system is any program that you can access using network

connection via HTTP. It is a software system whose main purpose is to publish

and maintain data by using hypertext-based principles. The meaning of the term

web-based is an application that is being run in the web browser. Although web-

based system can also be client- based, wherein the small portion of a program

is downloaded in user's desktop, yet still the processing is done over the internet

in the external server. Web browser is typically used as front-end whereas

database as back-end. It is also known as web apps.

24

In the past few years, the web-based system has gained more popularity

compared to desktop application, becoming one of common instrument in small

and large businesses around the world.

One of these are the churches who used web-based system for their

ministry. In the past two years we have all suffered from the COVID 19

pandemic, one of the most affected are the churches because it is forbidden to

hold face to face masses to prevent the spread of the virus. Because of this,

other churches have thought of creating a web-based system for their church that

has various features that will help them in their ministry.

Unlike desktop software, web-based apps are accessible anywhere and

anytime, as long as you have access to a device with an Internet connection.

(Lvivity Team)(2018).

Furthermore, Web- based software doesn’t have to be installed and

configured, so it’s much easier to snappily increase the number of active user as

opposed to desktop programs. What’s more, ultramodern Web waiters perform

extremely well indeed when faced with thousands of contemporaneous requests,

so expanding the network of Web app druggies is frequently possible without any

fresh software configuration or revision.

Excellerate church software states in their website that with a web-based

solution, since the application and data are stored on internet servers, you will be

able to access your information from anywhere you have an internet connection.

This is great if you need access to your information away from the church. If

some of the church staff often works from home or the coffee shop, then this may
25

be the way to go. Web-based also means you can access the application with

almost any kind of device – computer, laptop, or tablet.

The global COVID crisis has accelerated the necessity for a web-based

church management software.

Thanks to the pandemic, church attendance has significantly changed.

Online sermons and masses recorded an 8% increase in attendance than in-

person attendance before COVID. This number denotes a drastic shift in your

congregation’s preference for online gatherings over physical presence.

For your church, that means going digital and ensuring that you keep up

your church’s fundraising and communication activities as you had before the

pandemic.

Church management software can help you here. It will simplify everyday

church tasks and digitize the process to make it more trackable and efficient

(narayanan)(2020).

Zech (2014) in his research, he tried to find out the effective design of

church website. Technology is a mainstay in mostpeople lives especially for

religious purpose, using website the church can provide information and keep

members engaged with the church community.

Chapter 3
METHODOLOGY

Project Development Framework

The proponent utilizes the software development life cycle agile model for

conducting this project.

A software development life cycle (SDLC) model is a conceptual

framework describing all activities in a software development project from

planning to maintenance. This process is associated with several models, each

including a variety of tasks and activities.

Agile software development refers to software development

methodologies centered around the idea of iterative development, where

requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing

cross-functional teams.

The agile software development model consists of 6 stages which are the

requirement, plan, design, develop, test, and deploy.

27

In the first phase of the requirements, the proponent's system will gather

the data of ministries and parish, fees, services offered and business

requirements.

And for our next stage the planning. In this stage the project team will start

planning and gathering ideas and information for the system features in order to

provide the requirements needed, and also identifying hardware and software

requirements.

Design stage, in this phase the project team will start designing the

databases and the user interface.

28

And for the next stage which is the development stage, the project team

will start the development of the database and the management information

system.

And for the test stage, the project team will conduct the quality assurance

testing and the user acceptance testing to assure that the requirements are met.

The final phase is the Deployment stage. In this phase the project team

will conduct users training to gather feedbacks from the users to asses their

concern.

Since this project development framework is appropriate for the current

project, it investigates and describes the entire system development process that

will be used. undertaken by the proponent, beginning with data collection and

ending with system deployment.

Locale of the Project

The Setting of the Project is at Macamot Binangonan, Rizal. Macamot, officially

Barangay Macamot is a barangay in the municipality of Binangonan, in the

province of Rizal. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 10,301.

This represented 3.28% of the total population of Binangonan. The Saint Francis

of Assisi Parish Church was founded on October 29, 2011 by two friars from the

Orders of Friars Minor Conventual (OFMConv.). In the middle of the year 2010,

the order of the San Franciscan Conventuals sent two friars to Binangonan Rizal

to conduct a mission and study the possibility of accepting such an order of

administration in what could be a new parish in the area, just in case. They

started living in July 2010 in a rental unit in the Mountainville Estate Subdivision
29

in Barangay Tatala. At the end of the year 2010, the most venerable bishop of

Antipolo, Gabriel Reyes DD, wrote to the Franciscan order to offer to manage it if

the mission of the friars were to be converted into a parish. On the

recommendation of the two friars to accept it, it passed to the custody of the

order in the Philippines by its order that Fr. Mariel Santos, OFM Conventual,

finally decided, after many months, to accept the offer. Our Lady of Fatima

Chapel in Barangay Macamot was chosen as the temporary center of the parish

church. It is the only one of the chapels in the parish that is operating near the

highway and is almost in the center as well. The parish offers services for the

sacraments, including Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation,

Anointing of the Sick, Marriage, and Holy Orders. The San Francisco Assisi has

social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

San Francisco ng Assisi Parish has 11 territorial boundaries which include Sitio

San Juan, Brgy. Darangan, Mountville Estates Subdivision, Brgy. Batingan, Brgy.

Dalig, Brgy. Mambog, Brgy. Tatala, Crystal East Valley Subdivision, Sunshine

Fiesta Subdivision, Cardinal, and Brgy. Macamot. This parish has had

approximately 2,000–5,000 church volunteers since it was established in 2011.

Currently, it is divided by eight active ministries, including Lay Minister, Choir,

Media, Altar Servers, Youth, Lectors and Commentators, Usherettes, and Mother

Butler Guild.

Subject of the Project

30

There were a total of seventeen (17) respondents of the project which are

composed of one (3) parish priest, one (1) secretary, one (1) sfap media head,

one (1) finance head, selected volunteers in eleven (11) pamayanans from San

Francisco ng Assisi Parish Church who access the acceptance testing of the

developed.

The respondents were chosen since they will be the system’s end-users.

The proponent believes that they can assess the acceptance of the proposed

system since they are the one who is knowledgeable in the entire process of the

church.

Procedure of the Project

The good points of this study are that it is well conversed and developed

in a more considerate manner; with that, the proponents conducted this study in

accordance with the flow of time or trends.

The proponent began by debating how they should go about creating their

titles. It entailed exchanging ideas and opinions with one another, with the

freedom to decide whether the idea would be a strong hold or not when

presented to the panel. After much deliberation, the supporters narrow their

options down to three.

In exchanging ideas, the proponents The proponents considered promoting and

giving information using technology. how technology affects the dissemination of

31

information that sprouts from time to time and how technology affects the

promotion of organizations, etc. Following that, they conducted a series of

interviews that assisted them in understanding how technology can change and

solve problems in various organizations and promote the gathering of information

using technology  Based on these discussions, the proponent created proposed

system titles. These proposals underwent scrutiny from the panel during the title

defense. The panel picked the title about web based among the presented title

by the proponents which is the San Francisco ng Assisi Parish Church. After the

title was approved, the proponents gathered information and data, then started

working on their preliminary materials and Chapter 1. After a week, Chapter 2

followed. The manuscript then was consulted with their thesis adviser to check if

there are errors and problems. So, the proponents proceeded on making their

Chapter 3, then several revisions of manuscript was done. It was then checked

and finalized in preparation for the colloquium or pre-oral defense. The

proponents presented their proposal to the panel during the colloquium, which

provided them with valuable feedback and criticism. Based on the panel's other

recommendations, the Researchers revised and finalized the manuscript before

submitting the soft bind copy to their capstone project instructors.
