INSIGHT PAPER
PHYSICAL Every day, we use our whole body in our daily living. As we grow
DEVELOPMENT old, our physicality is at constant change. As our body grows, so as our
other aspects of growth changes. Our physical changes affect our mental,
emotional and spiritual state by how we perceive things and the situations
The brain and the all around us. And as an early adult who belongs with the hustling busy
society, I come up how to think critically, analyze, control my emotions, the
body
use of my female muscular strength as energizer in heavy tasks and
developed faith. But how did these evolve as I age from birth to becoming
a full-fledged woman I am today? How did the human brain adapt to these
certain changes?

Studies shows that the brain is changing and developing from

infancy to adolescence. Human brains have two hemispheres and each
of them has functions. Infants are more likely to be sensitive than grown
up children because they develop large new synapses which results for
infant’s brain to be more active. Synapses are the point at which a
nervous impulse pass from one neuron to another. In the brain of an
infant, the brain structure can be deformed which means regardless of
removing its left hemisphere, the brain can change in form but still
functions in some ways so infants can still develop senses or sensory
development of using experience that connects them with the world. The
world or society greatly affects the development of the human brain, an
infant start to develop their sense of vision from what they see, hearing
from what they hear, smell and taste from what they perceive in the
world.

The brain development continues through childhood. Children

learn how to connect with the world. The quality of a child’s experiences
in the first few years of life positive or negative helps shape how their
brain develops. Different areas of the brain are responsible for different
abilities, like movement, language and emotion, and develop at
different rates which this enables the child to move and speak and think
in more complex ways.

Adolescence is the period of transition between childhood and

adulthood. Children who are entering adolescence are going through
many changes including physical, intellectual, personality and social
developmental and this occurs the beginning of puberty. Changes in the
teenage brain affects the behavior and social skills. They begin to
develop improved self-control and skills in planning, problem-solving
and decision-making. While these changes occur, adolescents tend to
develop bodily proportions like an adult. For boys, heightand muscles
increase in strength and size during this period, voice will be deepen
and facial hairs start to grow. For girls, breast buds, facial hair begin to
develop and menstrual periods begin to occur. During adolescence,
they learn how to interact differently it is the state where in they develop
emotional jealousy with peers and friends.
In overall, changes in the way a child interacts with family, friends
and peers is noticeable. Every teen’s social and emotional development
is different and a parent’s unique combination of genes, brain
development, environment, experiences with family and friends, and
community and culture shape development. What we see now in the
adolescents is how a society greatly affects them. They developed
addictions with the era of advanced technologies. Their body urges
them to act and think what they are interested in.

Social changes and emotional changes show that an adolescent is

forming an independent identity and learning to be an adult. So, as we
grow old, not only bodies are changing, so as our mindset and how we
look at the society. We are more self-conscious, especially about
physical appearance and changes. So the brain continues to change and
perceive things in what we observe and experience and mature in this
stage.
