III. PROCEDURES
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greetings:
The teacher will begin the class with a short prayer, greetings, attendance, and reminders about
what they need to do during the online class.

2. Priming
2.1 Review
In this section, the teacher will ask the students to recall their previous topic on the definition
and examples of flash fiction and short story writing.

2.2 Motivation
Using the share screening feature in Google Meet, the teacher will play a 3:43-minutes clip
from "A Whole New World" - Disney Aladdin, a musical video presentation of songs
containing elements from a play. As they watch the presentation, the teacher will ask the
following guide questions.

• Make a list of all the elements of playwriting that you saw in the material you
watched.
• They must type it in the Google Meet app's chat section.

2.3 Introduction
As the teacher takes note of the words that the students have listed, she will allow all of them
to access mentimeter.com. In this section, she will give the class the mentimeter.com code so
that the students can comment on one of the questions she has posted on the website.
Mentimeter.com enables the class to see all the generated responses from the students on a
single slide. As the class responds, the teacher will share her screen to display her students'
responses. Students must respond to the following questions:

• What aspect of playwriting do you find the most enjoyable? Why is it so?

After answering, the teacher must ask the class if they have any idea on how to write a play.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Discussion
• The class will now be divided into three groups based on the previous activity. In the
Google Meet breakout session, groupings will be done automatically.
• The first group will work on definitions and examples of playwriting; the second group
will create a short story play, and the third group will create a Venn diagram comparing
playwriting and story writing.
• After 5-10 minutes of collaboration, each group will be given 2-3 minutes to present
their output through a representative.
• After the group presentation, the teacher will sum up the lesson by presenting a
PowerPoint presentation to the class.

2. Developing mastery
Through the interactive game made in Kahoot, the students will participate in
answering questions such as the following:

1. What is the written material used to produce a performance?

2. What is the importance of playwriting?
3. What kind of elements are these ideas, conflict, setting, characters, dialogue, and
format?

C. Generalization
Ask the students the following questions as far as their understanding of the lesson is
concerned:
1. What is playwriting?
2. How can we write a play?
3. What are the elements of playwriting?

D. Evaluation
Final output:
In this section, students are assigned to write a play with a minimum of 800 words and
a maximum of 1000 words in any genre or topic of their choice. The playwriting must include
the following elements: the main idea, conflict, setting, characters, dialogue, and format. Create
a unique title for your story.

IV. ASSIGNMENT

playwriting context.
