Procedures to transfer loads from BB-B to BB-A

Single Line Diagram

1. From GIS Close Bus coupler “GIS-B/C”. So that both bus bars (BB-A&BB-B)
will be connected together.
2. Transfer the loads from BB-B to BB-A at Substations :
2.1.Substation 200:
2.1.1. From SS-200 Close substation bus coupler “SS-B/C” & Open
Incomer A “INC-A” by ATS.
2.1.2. From GIS Transfer the “3A-QA1” feeder from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
2.1.3. From SS-200 Close Incomer A “INC-A”, substation bus coupler “SS-
B/C” & open Incomer B “INC-B” by ATS.
2.1.4. From GIS Transfer the “3B-QA1” feeder from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
2.1.5. From SS-200 Close Incomer B “INC-B” & open substation bus
coupler “SS-B/C” by ATS.
2.2.Substation 300:
2.2.1. From SS-300 Close substation bus coupler “SS-B/C” & Open
Incomer A “INC-A” by ATS.
2.2.2. From GIS Transfer the “4A-QA1” feeder from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
2.2.3. From SS-300 Close Incomer A “INC-A”, substation bus coupler “SS-
B/C” & open Incomer B “INC-B” by ATS.
2.2.4. From GIS Transfer the “4B-QA1” feeder from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
2.2.5. From SS-300 Close Incomer B “INC-B” & open substation bus
coupler “SS-B/C” by ATS.
2.3.Substation 400:
2.3.1. From SS-400 Close substation bus coupler “SS-B/C” & Open
Incomer A “INC-A” by ATS.
2.3.2. From GIS Transfer the “5A-QA1” feeder from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
2.3.3. From SS-400 Close Incomer A “INC-A”, substation bus coupler “SS-
B/C” & open Incomer B “INC-B” by ATS.
2.3.4. From GIS Transfer the “5B-QA1” feeder from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
2.3.5. From SS-400 Close Incomer B “INC-B” & open substation bus
coupler “SS-B/C” by ATS.
2.4.Substation 100:
2.4.1. From SS-100 Close substation bus coupler “SS-B/C” & Open
Incomer A “INC-A” by ATS.
2.4.2. From GIS Transfer the “1A-QA1” feeder from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
2.4.3. From SS-100 Close Incomer A “INC-A”, substation bus coupler “SS-
B/C” & open Incomer B “INC-B” by ATS.
2.4.4. From GIS Transfer the “1B-QA1” feeder from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
2.4.5. From SS-100 Close Incomer B “INC-B” & open substation bus
coupler “SS-B/C” by ATS.
2.5.Substation 600:
2.5.1. From GIS Transfer the “2A-QA1” feeder from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
3. Transfer the Turbines from BB-B to BB-A at GIS:
3.1. Ensure that there are 3 turbines running.
3.2.GTG-1:
3.2.1. Decrease the load gradually till reaching 800KW then open the
Circuit breaker manually from LER.
3.2.2. Transfer the turbine disconnector from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
3.2.3. Synchronise the turbine with GIS “BB-A” which will close the
circuit breaker.
3.2.4. Load the turbine.
3.3. GTG-2:
3.3.1. Decrease the load gradually till reaching 800KW then open the
Circuit breaker manually from LER.
3.3.2. Transfer the turbine disconnector from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
3.3.3. Synchronise the turbine with GIS “BB-A” which will close the
circuit breaker.
3.3.4. Load the turbine.
3.4.GTG-3:
3.4.1. Decrease the load gradually till reaching 800KW then open the
Circuit breaker manually from LER.
3.4.2. Transfer the turbine disconnector from “BB-B” to “BB-A”.
3.4.3. Synchronise the turbine with GIS “BB-A” which will close the
circuit breaker.
3.4.4. Load the turbine.

 After finishing transferring the substations & turbines loads

successfully to BB-A. open the GIS bus coupler “GIS-B/C”.
 Make GIS BB-B earthed by closing “QC21” in cell H16.
