Zara Richardson

Elementary Education (EC-6 w/ ESL)

Greetings! My name is Zara Richardson, and I am a student at Houston Baptist
University. I am majoring in Elementary Education (EC-6 with ESL). I have always
wanted to be a teacher! My hobbies include running, baking, attending sports events,
and serving my community. I am so excited to celebrate diversity and give students an
equal opportunity to succeed in the classroom. I hope that professionally I can inspire
my future students to be independent, pursue creativity, and grow a love for learning.
Personally, I had many teachers who impacted my life positively and I hope I can do
that for my future students.

Education Tutoring (Reading/ ELA)
This was an amazing opportunity to practice my skills as a future educator. I had the
privilege of working with high schoolers who were struggling readers. I did mini-
2019-Present assessments to see what my group of students needed. I planned tutoring lessons using
Bachelor of Science in Elementary
Neuhaus materials. The students and I worked together to build their reading and
Education (EC-6 w/ ESL) comprehension skills.
