How to generate/create your 1701 XML file thru the offline eBirForms program.

1. Open and log-in to the offline eBirForms program installed in your computer. Select the form 1701.

2. If you have previously saved the data entry in the 1701, select the file report and click “View”.

3. In the 1701 form, go to the bottom portion of Page 1 (see screenshot below) and click “Validate”.

4. Click “Ok” to confirm that the validation was successful. You have to complete the data entry to have a
successful validation. You cannot generate the XML file without successful validation.

5. After successful validation, click “Final Copy” (beside the “Print” button).

6. Click “Ok” to confirm the generation of the XML file report.

7. Click “Ok” to save the file report in the hard disk/internal drive.

8. Select the drive where you want to save the file report.

9. Click “Ok” to confirm that the file was successfully saved in the hard disk/internal drive.

10. The screenshot below shows that the return is already the final copy (the buttons “Validate, Edit, Save and
Final Copy” are no longer active). You may exit and close the program.

11. To see the XML file report, open the Windows Explorer and go to the drive where the file was saved (see
Step 8 and recall the drive you selected) and look for the folder
It is usually saved in C:\IAF_RDO_Copy (sample file: 146471633000-1701-1214.xml).

12. You may now submit the XML file thru email. Open your email and create/compose new email. In the
Subject line, type the words using this format RDO_1701_TIN_taxable_period . Sample subject line:
043B_1701_146471633000_1214. Then, attach your XML file and send to the email address:
1701v2013@bir.gov.ph

The BIR should reply for the receipt of the email. See actual email below:

13. Use the following email subject and email address for your particular return:
