COURSE TITLE: Humanities
CREDIT: 3 Units

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Introduces the different areas of the arts. The importance of human being, his feelings, and his thoughts, and how he expresses these
are emphasized. Also his use of leisure productively which gives personal self-fulfillment creativity.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: 1. Provides the general overview of the humanities


2. Acquaints theoretically to the visual, auditory and performing arts (traditional and contemporary) through the study of the types,
mediums, basic elements and principles of organization of each form;
3. Exposes to the different subject areas: visual arts, literature, drama, music and dance which are concerned with the thoughts,
creations, and actions of human beings in the past and in the present, making them more human;
4. Appreciates the work of Arts in the Philippines and in the other countries;
5. Research Philosophy of man that coincide the work of arts.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: 1. Participation (10%) Active involvement in the class discussions;


2. Presentation of assigned topic to be researched: (30%) Readiness, Clear presentation of reports, Content of the topic, visual aids,
application of the topic report, and how questions are to be answered.
3. Final Examinations (30%)

6. Required to submit: 1. Research the different Paintings (‘write the Historical context, Spiritual motif and ideas, Aesthetic
consideration, Color significant, Psychological effects, and Philosophical Influence.
2. Research the different Architectural and Sculpture designs (‘write the Historical context, Spiritual motif and
ideas, Aesthetic consideration, Color significant, Psychological effects, and Philosophical Influence.
3. Research Drama, Literature, and Movies , Music, Dance. (‘write the Historical context, Spiritual motif and i
consideration, Color significant, Psychological effects, and Philosophical Influence.)
4. Reflection and Learnings, References.
