“Environmental Protection”

One of the most important factors for the continued existence of living beings is the environment.
We are lucky enough to be on a planet that provides us with all the essentials for not just surviving but
also prospering. With this in mind, failing to be aware of the actions and decisions we take that have an
impact on the environment is a disservice to people who are close to us. One of the essential elements to
human longevity is the condition of our environment. Unfortunately, as time has gone on, we have
witnessed how our habits of behavior have led to the environment's devastation.

How do we protect and take care of our environment?

 Plant More Trees

The largest source of oxygen that absorbs carbon dioxide and produces clean,
fresh air is found in trees. They contribute to lowering ozone levels in the atmosphere,
lowering noise pollution, and providing a variety of fruits and flowers that have many
health advantages. In order to lower the amount of air pollutants like benzene and
nitrogen dioxide and maintain a comfortable interior climate, you can also add indoor
plants to your home.

 Save Electricity

When leaving a room or when they are not needed, always turn off the lights,
fans, and air conditioning. Utilize natural light as much as possible and refrain from using
artificial lighting during the day. When not in use, unplug the electronic appliances. It
conserves energy and benefits the environment, in addition to saving you money.

 Save Water

Since water is a natural resource with a limited supply, it must be conserved if we

are to protect our ecosystem and lessen the impact of drought. Shorten your showers.
When washing dishes, avoid leaving the faucet running. Avoid wasting a lot of water
when flushing. Please don't squander it and use it sensibly because it takes a lot of
resources to bring fresh, clean water to your home.

 Use Less Paper

We all print out paperwork, tickets, flyers, etc. at work or at home. Often, we discard
notepads that have been used only partially. Each year, many trees are felled in order to make
paper. Therefore, you can do a lot to protect the environment by saving paper. Take printouts
only if absolutely necessary. Avoid purchasing magazine subscriptions. Instead of writing
down notes on paper for later use, use your mobile device.

 Save Fuel

Walking or riding your bicycle to commute to work, school, and other places will cut down
the fuel consumption and burn some calories which is also beneficial for your health. Or you can also
take public transport or try carpool. Stop the car when stuck in a jam or at the red light. You can also
invest in a fuel-efficient car. Adopting these measures will save the fuel and reduce greenhouse gases
in the environment.

 Use Jute Bags

Avoid using plastic or paper bags every time you go grocery shopping. Because plastic is
harmful to the environment that takes almost 450 years to decompose. Make it a habit to always carry
an eco-friendly jute bag whenever you go shopping. Jute is a natural fiber that lasts longer and when
left unused gets destroyed on its own without contributing to environmental pollution.

 Compost

When you decompose the organics in landmines, they produce methane and other greenhouse
gases, which absorbs the heat from the sun and contributes to warming the earth. Try to decompose
your food and other organic waste. The compost makes a natural fertilizer that enriches the soil and
helps produce healthy fruits and vegetables.

 Quit Smoking

Smoking is one of the major causes of air pollution and the discarded cigarette butts litter the
streets and contaminate water bodies. When you smoke indoors or in public places, you also put the
health of people around you at the stake. Quitting smoking will make you live longer and healthier
and also save the environment from the toxic chemicals found in cigarettes.

 Recycle

Recycling minimizes pollution and preserves our natural resources. The process is quite easy and
all you have to do is make wise choices. Buy products that can be recycled or made from recycled
materials. In supermarkets, pick the products with least packaging. Collect the materials that can be
recycled and throw them in a recycle bin provided by the local council.

 Say No To Fire Crackers

One of the greatest contributors to noise and air pollution is fireworks. Copper, zinc,
lead, magnesium, and other compounds contained in crackers that never fully degrade have a
negative impact on the environment and endanger human health. Avoid crackers and
celebrate holidays and other special occasions without increasing your carbon footprint.
