OBJECTIVE AND INTRODUCTION

In this laboratory activity, we are analysing the relation between frequency and active
power depending on the load of a power island distribution, using two synchronised
generators.

THEORY AND EXPERIMENTAL METHODS

For the development of this exercise, we have done the following steps:
1. We started cancelling the warnings of both generators.
2. Press “START” button of one of the generators.
3. Wait for the excitation of the generator.
4. Connect the generator to the bus bar pushing “ON” (as we are connecting only
one generator, we do not need to look for any synchronization)
5. Press “START” button of the other generator.
6. Wait for the excitation of the generator.
7. Synchronizing of the generator (rising or slowing down the frequency depending
on the rotation`s movement)
8. Connect the second generator(synchronization) when the synchroscope marks the
twelve-twelve position and it is rotating in clockwise direction.
9. Connect progressively the loads writing each measurement.

CONCLUSIONS

Finally, as we had expected, we can observe that the droop of the characteristic curves of
both generators are different.
