Nowadays, the way many people interact with each other has changed because of

technology. In what ways has technology affected the types of relationships people make?
Has this become a positive or negative development?

Today, with the advancement of technology, there has been an alternation in people lifestyle, in
particular the personal relationships. In my opinion, the prevalence of the high tech has made a
long-lasting impact on our communication with others. In addition, this results in more negative
outcomes than beneficial ones.

There are several ways in which the new communication technology has altered people’s
interaction with each other. First and foremost, social media platforms with the advent of the
Internet have revolutionized daily conversations and contacts. For example, during the Covid -19
pandemic, Facebook, Zalo and other applications enable us to stay connected with distant
friends, family and donators who might provide us with foods and drinks due to the lockdown.
Secondly, it is possible that human beings create new possibilities for friendships. A good
illustration for this is people from walks of life globally are able to exchange their opinions and
culture on electronical sites. Consequently, this advent creates a diversity of opportunities for
new relationships and maintaining old ones.

Nevertheless, besides these advances, I do believe that messaging on digital networks carries
with it a high level of risk. If people keep their communication online, this means that they have
fewer face to face contact with their beloved ones. As a result, this trend triggers a serious
problem to the development of child’s brain. As the lack of direct communication, along with
affectionate words and touch, children have become more and more indifferent to people around
them. Undoubtedly, teenagers therefore witness sudden accidents or incidents daily with
emotionless face or eyes without giving a hand. Moreover, constant exposure to technology
influences severely the physical well-being. Not only is there an increase in the number of short-
sighted students but adolescents also tend to have a sedentary lifestyle instead of playing outdoor
activities.

In conclusion, technology brings a variety of benefits to us, however, the quality of

communication has significantly declined, accompanied by the negative impact on both spiritual
and physical health.
