1.What is Mathematics? 

The science and study of quality, structure, space, and change is mathematics.
Mathematicians use rigorous reasoning from carefully selected axioms and definitions to look
for patterns, make new hypotheses, and establish the veracity of their findings. The science of
mathematics examines the logic of order, quantity, and shape. We use math in everything we
do and all around us. Everything in our daily life, including mobile technology, computers,
software, ancient and modern architecture, art, money, engineering, and even sports, is built on
it.

2.Why is Mathematics important? 

The value of a strong mathematics education goes much beyond the discussion of
higher test scores as it is currently being discussed. In my schooling and job, I have used the
word "mathematics" a lot, but I never gave it any attention until recently. It organizes our lives
and keeps them from becoming chaotic, making mathematics a potent tool for global
understanding and communication. Understanding the world through mathematics also helps us
develop mental discipline. Math fosters logical reasoning, critical analysis, inventiveness,
abstract or spatial thinking, problem-solving aptitude, and even good communication abilities.

There are challenging circumstances in the world that need to be resolved. A student
who is proficient in math is essential in coming up with acceptable solutions for some issues;
they do not have to pay for math assignments. The acquired information incorporates excellent
logical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Living can be mysterious to a student, but math
offers incredible solutions to every issue. When you start deciding how to spend your money,
your time, or even your food alternatives, you will understand how important mathematics is.
Your love of numbers creates fantastic potential for you to succeed professionally as well as in
solving problems.
3.What new ideas about Mathematics did you learn from the video and/or from the
article?

The patterns that have been identified and studied are all effective mathematical tools.
One illustration of the immense linked network of mathematics that seems to indicate a deep
and hidden order to our universe is the number pi. The relationship between math and art is as
old as the disciplines themselves. Math works so effectively to explain reality because, in the
end, math is everything that there is. Natural proportion and geometry, such as the golden ratio,
spirals, spheres, and circles, were investigated by mathematicians, painters, and philosophers.
We notice that objects around us have order, patterns, and symmetry when we look at the small
features in nature. If you were to take a closer look at everything around you, you would see
how closely it all relates to mathematics.

Many theories and discoveries, as well as how mathematics benefits us in the


contemporary world. This explains how mathematics and nature interact. Our surroundings
contain patterns, sequences, and other mathematical structures. up to the universe's objects,
starting with the smallest ones we can see. We can't really dispute the fact that mathematics is
a powerful tool that works so effectively and one of human culture's greatest accomplishments.
We are able to understand and explain a wide range of events using mathematics, even the
complex occurrences that take place in our environment. Many mathematicians have said that
mathematics is found rather than invented as a result of all of this. There is math everywhere. It
plays a significant role in our lives, therefore we ought to make an effort to value it.
4. Summarize what you learned from the videos/articles using 10-15 sentences only.

I discovered that the Fibonacci sequence is a set of numbers (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34,
55...), and what we can see is that each number's next number is obtained by adding its two
predecessors; for instance, the number 2 is found by adding its two predecessors, which is (1+1).
One of the simplest examples of where mathematics, and more specifically the Fibonacci
sequence, can be seen in nature is the number of petals on flowers. The Fibonacci sequence may
be seen in flower petal counts. For example, while most flowers, like lilies, have three petals,
some also have five, eight, or even more, while others, like daisies, have thirteen or even twenty-
one petals, and so on. After watching this film, I understood how a variety of natural occurrences
may be described by this series of numbers. The Fibonacci sequence may also be found in
sunflowers. There are two sets of spirals in a sunflower, and if you count them in both directions,
you get the Fibonacci numbers of 34 and 21, respectively. This movie taught me about "Pi,"
which is something else. It is the proportion of a circle's diameter to its circumference.
Everywhere there is a circle, like the disk of the sun, the symbol "Pi" emerges. It is also present
in the branch of physics that deals with waves, including light and sound. The mathematical
constant "Pi" may be used to determine the length of a meandering river, the likelihood that a
dropped needle would cut a series of parallel lines, and the color that should appear in a rainbow.
This film demonstrates how incredible mathematics is and how it can unlock the mysteries of the
cosmos, giving the impression that it is an essential component of nature.
In seeing this film, I also came to understand that mathematics was a blend of inventions and
discoveries. Overall, seeing this film increased my appreciation for and amazement at
mathematics.
