Facts and opinions are often uttered in statement.
the same breath; the terms have a huge
difference in their meanings. Whether a
statement is a fact or an opinion depends
on the validity of the statement.

What is meant by fact?

A fact is a true information about a
topic. It is a statement that can be
proven to be true by the use of evidence.

For example:
The MCCEI will having a face-face
classes starting August 8, 2022.

The MCCEI’s guard requiring a vax

card before entering school.

Yes, Ma’am!
Okay, so let us now proceed to Opinion.

What is meant by opinion?

An opinion is someone’s personal idea,

feeling, or thing about a topic. It is based
on personal views or observations.

Example:
I guess the SSG treasurer is not around.

Now, who can give me an example of

the opinion statement?
Yes, Renro? Very good!
I guess he is our new teacher
Now, here are some expressions used in
presenting facts or opinions.

It is recorded and verifiable….
According to the studies/observations…
OPINIONS

Key Differences Between Fact and

Opinion

The difference between fact and opinion

has the following grounds:

1. The fact is described as the

statement that can be verified or
proved to be true. Opinion is an
expression of judgment or belief
about something.
2. Fact relies on observation or
research while opinion is based
on assumption.
3. The fact is an objective reality
whereas opinion is a subjective
statement.
4. Facts can be verified with the
help of evidence or statistics. On
the contrary, opinion is not
supported by any evidence.
5. Facts explain what actually
happened. Unlike an opinion,
that represents a perception
about something.
6. Facts are shown with unbiased
words, however, opinion is
expressed with biased words.
7. Facts can change anybody’s
opinion, but vice versa is not
possible.
8. Facts are real information and so
it cannot be challenged or
debated, but if we talk about Exactly!
opinions, they can be debated.

Now, are there any clarifications?

If none then.
