To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to highly recommend Morgan LeGrand to you as an Early Childhood and Elementary, K-8 teacher. I
had the honor of serving as her cooperating teacher at Harrisburg South Middle School during the fall of the
2022-2023 school year, where Morgan taught sixth grade English Language Arts.
Ms. LeGrand engages all her students in the lesson being taught. She has developed effective short- and long-
term assessments that enable her to monitor student learning so that her teaching can be adjusted if
needed. She continually reflects on the lesson and makes necessary adjustments to ensure active participation.
Ms. LeGrand also differentiates her instructions and assignments. This is obvious in the way she can take
difficult concepts and make them very understandable for her students. She demonstrates excellent planning
and preparation for her students. One example of this is Morgan’s history of differentiating assessments for ELL
Learners as well as SPED learners. The lessons and activities that she develops are well thought out and are at
an appropriate level. Her lessons all consistently follow State and National Standards.
Another reason for highly recommending Morgan is because she builds rapport and treats all her students with
respect. She demonstrates and models excellent non-verbal management techniques and is consistent with her
expectations. She brings a positive influence to the learning environment along with her good sense of humor,
which she uses appropriately in order to build community and have fun in the classroom. It is clear that Morgan
has a strong desire to work with, teach, and encourage young people.
Lastly, Morgan is also innovative in her use of technology in the classroom, and she uses technology to enhance
the lesson and content as well as help the students with different learning styles achieve their full potential. She
is fluent in many tech mediums including but not limited to: Canvas, Flex Scheduler, Google, and Apple
programs.
I am glad Ms. LeGrand has chosen education as her profession. I would highly recommend her for any teaching
position in which she is interested, and I would be glad to speak to you further about her teaching skills.
