Mr. Dela Cruz: Good morning, Mam Soriano, we are here regarding the letter for consultation
my students sent to last week.
Mrs. Soriano: Good morning, Sir, come in and have a sit. Boys, please bring extra chairs from
outside.
Mrs. Soriano: Ok then, regarding your letter last week. Let’s do it with question and answer.
Marga: Good morning, first I would like to thank you for accommodating our request. I
am Marga, Grade 10 student. I’m interested in politics; but my parents want me
to study business management since we have our own business.
Mrs. Soriano: If your passion is politics then you should pursue Political Science. However
maybe, your parents will not support you in your endeavors. And we all know
that support system plays a big role in achieving our goals.
Marga: That is my dilemma right now Mam, I am thorned in choosing between my
passion or destiny.
Mrs. Soriano: Ok, to start with, how old are your parents?
Marga: Early 40’s Mam.
Mrs. Soriano: That’s good. Talk to them and make a deal. Ask them if you could take political
courses first then study master on business administration afterwards. It will be
a win-win solution.
Marga: That sounds great Mam, I will talk to them, and I am sure they will my
proposal.
Jennifer: Good morning, I do not know until now what field we want to study. I do not
have interest in mathematics and science. I am not business minded and
politically motivated.
Mrs. Soriano: That would be very difficult to deal with. However, I am glad that you have
acknowledged it as early as today. Ask them for their advice and asses yourself
as well on what is best course that you will take. If not, then come back here and
let’s talk further.
Jennifer: Thank you Mam, I will follow your advice.
Jeremy: For me Mam, I want to be an Engineer, but we are not financially capable of
supporting my dreams. Is there any program for this course that I can be
enrolled with to support me in my needs once I am in college?
Mrs. Soriano: Jeremy, we have DOST scholarship that focuses on students dealing with
Science and Technology. Once you are in Grade 12, come back here so I can
assist you with the processes of applying for these scholarships.
Jeremy: Thank you very much Mam, you gave a hope to pursue my dreams.
Justine: For me Mam, I am here because I want to know if we have a program for those
students who cannot pursue college due to financial problems. Aside from
scholarships, do we have programs that can help us get a job after senior high
school graduation?
Mrs. Soriano: Hijo, our local government is conducting seminar, training, and workshop to
enhance the skills of the students further. After completing the program, they
will be the one who will look for a job that fits the candidate.
Justine: That is impressive Mam.
Mrs. Soriano: Last, Mr. Mark Santos, what is your problem.
Mark: Good morning, Mam, I am already determined to take up Accountancy. I just
joined the group to listen and be educated as well.
Mrs. Soriano: Great then, so are all your questions and dilemmas solved?
Mr. Dela Cruz: I think they are satisfied with your answers Mam. Again, thank you very much
for accommodating us.
Mrs. Soriano: No problem, good luck to your future guys. Study harder. And if you have some
questions, my door is always open.
