So starting with the CSR activity I carried out under the supervision of my

course instructor Sir Babar Khairi went remarkably well where our whole
section contributed to donate books and soft toys to the less privileged
people to help facilitate them in the best possible ways. Moreover, as we
practice the concept of CSR, it makes us more responsible to towards our
society and teaches us that the responsibility falls upon us to help the less
privileged, as donating these items would increase one’s self esteem and
self worth, it would also make the donor feel that he is making a
difference for his society. The toy i donated was a stuffed penguiin, and
multiple story and excercise books that would help these children to
develops basic drawing and reading skills. The books consisted of TMNJ
(Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) Coloring and reading book, Star Wars
(Revenge of the Jedi) Comic/Activity book, Winning Words- Oxford
Treetops, Hard Work -Oxford Treetops, Pirates -Oxford Treetops, Our
Planet -Picture Pocket Edition. All of these items were very easy to
acquire and when I donated them, I felt a sense of accomplishment and
fulfillment. Having the power to improve the lives of others and work for
their betterment, to me and the others is none less than a privilege, which
comes with its own sense of obligation. Acting on this powerful feeling of
responsibility to care for the less privileged in the society is a great way to
reinforce my own personal values and feel like I am living in a way that is
true to my own ethical beliefs. I believe that there are always people out
there in need of help and to be there for them and facilitate them in the
most efficient manner is the true meaning of humanity and a generous
ethical society. If not, this social responsibility project I would opt for a
tree plantation drive during this Covid-19 period. Since Karachi’s average
temperature during the summer’s accounts for a highest of 42°C and is
expected to increase every year. This severe problem that causes massive
heatwaves due to which people get ill and die which can be minimized by
tree plantation in Karachi’s different areas. During the covid-19 when the
streets and roads are empty, I would have taken this great initiative of
“Two for One” which generally means that every individual has to plant
two trees each in their respective area and when this chain continues
there will be a huge plantation thus minimizing the problem of heatwaves
in our city while making our atmosphere eco-friendlier with clean air.
Moving on to the theorists that I can link with the csr activity firstly is
carol gilligans theory fo moral development that focusues on care and
justice baed morality. That includes the three stages of pre conventional,
conventional and post conventional stages. By participating in this csr
activity I have reached the post conventional stage whch is the final stage
of moral development where I take responsibilities for my action while
also caring for other such as the children whom I have donated my books
and toys that untimately brings to me self fulfillness and a feeling that I
am an ethical person in the society that looks after himself and as well as
the others. The second philosopher I would like to relate with this activity
is john locke whose theory is based upon a society that belives in
equality , justice and happiness as farness prevails. Believing in equality
and the harmony for others in the society I caried out this csr activity to
ensure that every less priviledged child deprived of his childhood should
get it back thorugh soft toy and short story books as getting good
education and acces to oft oys is the right of every young child that no
iddividual can deny as this revolves around the natural goodness of
humanity.
