TOTAL 1459.28A 1459.28A

Occupants Power Supply

The total occupants demand per block 1459.28 A. Total power can be found by
S (KVA) = Line Current x System Voltage
= 1459. 28A x 220V
=321,041.60 VA = 321.04KVA
Based on procurements I could only find 167KVA pole mounted transformers therefore I decide
to use 2 per block to supply the occupants load. My reason for that is

Since 167KVA supplies 759A/ph

IL = KVA/System Voltage = 167KVA/220V = 759A/ph

Therefore 2 167KVA connected in parallel would give me a total of 1518A/ph which would
good enough to supply the occupants load on the block
Cable Size
The occupants load on the block will be fed by 5 240mm2 cables connected in parallel. My
reason for that is
According to the F tables under the armored cables section
240mm2 = 409A
I = # of cables x Rating of each
= 5 x 409A
=2045A
Applying D factor of 80%
2045A x 0.8 = 1636A
1636A is adequate to supply the occupants load on the block
