School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Accomplishment Report


SY 2022-2023
I. Introduction

Natural disaster is a catastrophic event that is caused by nature or natural


process of the earth such as flood, typhoon, and earthquakes that causes great
damage or loss of life, and we do not know when and where it will hit us, that is
why preparation is the best way to survive or prevent great damage and loss of life
during the occurrence of disaster.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has confirmed the close link between health and
disaster risk reduction. SDRRM provides a basis for coherent action to facilitate building
resilience and health security in school and community, and enhance the integration of
disaster risk reduction in all subjects to manage health and related risks including for
disease outbreaks, as a key example of a multi-sectoral approach to disaster risk
management.

II. Objectives

1. Informed and educated the pupils about the different disaster.


2. Orient the pupils and parents about General Health and Covid-19 health and safety
protocols
3. Ensure the safe learning facilities
4. Conducted quarterly earthquake drill
5. Trained the pupils and teachers in basic first aid.

III. Accomplishments

A. Pupils Development and Management


1. The pupils participated in orientation about natural disasters.
2. The pupils participated in orientation about General Health and Covid-19 health and
safety protocols
3. The pupils participated in quarterly simultaneous earthquake drill.

B. Staff Development
1. Participated in all quarterly simultaneous earthquake drill.
2. Participated in all DRRM webinars
2. Created SDRRM team
3. Conducted SLAC meeting about DRRM and school building and area assessment
4. Conduct orientation about natural disasters
5. Conduct orientation about General Health and Covid-19 health health and safety
protocols

C. Curriculum Development
1. Integrates the Disaster Risk Reduction in all subject areas.
2. Integrates the General Health and Covid-19 health health and safety protocols
3. Provide hazards map, evacuation plan, and pictures of natural & human-induced
hazards.
4. School Disaster Readiness & Resilience Checklist, School Site Assessment
Checklist, and School Building Safety Checklist.

D. Physical Facilities Development


1. Provided and identify the safe area for pupils.
2. Updates and maintains the School DRRM bulletin board.
3. Provided signage for the areas that is not safe for the pupils.
4. Established Traffic management flow, signage, handwashing facility, alcohol
dispenser in strategic areas.

IV. Issues/ Concerns/Problems

1. Limited funds for purchasing the necessary equipment to keep the school
disaster ready.
2. Limited funds for classroom/building repairs to make it safe learning facilities.

V. Recommendation

1. Continue to inform the pupils and teachers about different disasters and General
Health and Covid-19 health and safety protocols,
2. Participate in Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
3. Continue to train the pupils in Basic first aid and equip the school with the
necessary equipment to make the school disaster ready.
