Change your point of view

Most of time, I would complain about going to work, either because I’m tired or to lazy to go. This
summer, I was working a lot, which obviously prevented me from hanging out with my friends. I was
annoyed but I knew it would benefit me more rather than seeing my friends everyday and not make any
money. I realized then that I should change the way I look at things. I should be more grateful that I have
a job to attend, unlike others who are desperately looking for a job. My friend once told me that I should
be appreciative of what I have because there’s others out there who doesn’t have what you have.

Honesty is the best policy

My best friend had always told me that it was better to “tell the ugly truth than lie about it”. I was
reminded that it was better to tell the truth yourself, rather than having it found out by them. People
might not realized at first, but at the end of the day, the truth will come out, so it’s always better to tell
the truth before its too late.

One at a time
It’s a pet peeve of mine when people try to talk while eating or either chew with their mouth open. I
think it is very important to have good table manners as it will have an affect on someone’s perspective
towards you. Also, most people will find it disrespectful when having no table manners at all. For
example, when eating, I recommend you to finish the food first before speaking, instead of doing both
at the same time.

Me VS Me
People tend to do things for others instead of yourself. Last year, i was caught up with a bunch if trends
that wasted a lot of my time and my happiness. Soon later, I found out that i was doing things mainly
because the fear of not being accepted or being left out. I realized then that I was not being myself and
that I was presenting a different version of me. Since then, I started doing things that gave me joy/
happiness. I realized that I needed to change myself and start doing things that I enjoy rather than doing
things for someone else.

Want < Need

There a lot of things I wish I had, but do I really need it? I asked myself this question when either
shopping online or at the mall. I think it is significant to know the difference between the two as it will
benefit me financially. This rule came into a realization when I was online shopping for shoes. I knew
very well that I had enough sneakers and that I didn’t need anymore shoes, which resulted of me not
purchasing the shoe.

Water the plant

Nothing comes easy, if you truly want it, work-hard for it. If you wanna see growth, you would have to
push and work on yourself to reach your highest potential. For example school, I realized attending class
won’t get me an A. Although, studying and actually doing my work with my best effort will make myself
successful in the class.

Let it go
Never ruin a good day by thinking about a bad yesterday. This rule is very important to me as it has
affected my happiness. At the gym, there’s some days that is just not meant for you. I’ve had several
days when I felt weak, small but I make sure to keep striving and work even harder the next day.
