CHAPTER THREE

During my internship I was given a scheduled duty roster which help me to go into the various

unites in the facility.

To being with, I went to the health information /medical records unit when I was introduced to

some activities at these unite such as registration of patient into the hospital administrative

system (HAMS), generating of patient index numbers to new clients and also entering of

monthly data into the district health information management system (DHMIS) where I spent

two weeks.

Secondly, the hospital administrative unit introduces into me some administrative duties and

responsibilities such as writing of memos, writing of payment vouchers (PVS) etc. after I was

assigned to organize files of staff systematically and filed into the app systems.

Furthermore, I went to the facility accounts unit, where I was introduced to some duties and

responsibilities by the unit staff there. At the unit I was assigned roles like receiving cash and

issuing of receipt, requisition of automatic transfers, updating of supplier’s ledgers and a whole a

lot

9
CHAPTER FOUR

I learnt so many things from the facility during my internship such as organizing, reviewing of

staff’s application letters and appointment letters etc. This internship activities I carried out

correlates with the classroom knowledge in some measures. I realized the classroom knowledge

gives a theoretical aspect whiles the internship also takes the practical aspect of my studies.

Some concept of courses I offered last semesters were pratical applied during my attachment.

Also work duties and responsibilities as a secretary to the administration helped me achieve my

internship objectives by me gaining a lot of experience during my internship period which would

facilitate me to choose a good topic for my degree thesis.

10
CHAPTER FIVE

Personally, the workers at Amoako healthcare City are very friendly and helpful to each other.

Throughout my internship period they worked with me in a friendly manner and I was

comfortable working with them. My internship in Amoako Healthcare City was mainly

supervised by Miss Amoah Marian an accountant of AMOAKO HEALTHCARE CITY who

has being an accountant over years. As my supervisor, she showed a very great interest in

whatever I was doing both academic and non-academic as far as the hospital is concerned.

She explained to me the important role I will play since it was the students’ first introduction to

managing, and how I will go about to perform such roles. An outline was given to me to follow.

She normally approaches me to find out what I have done so far. She is always available to help

me whenever I am faced with any kind of challenge. She will guide on what to do.

The supervision came with many criticisms and vital suggestions offered by my enabled

supervisor me to improve upon my human resource managing skill. She would tell me my

weaknesses in previous supervisions she had with me and how important it is to improve on

those areas. Reading her assessment comments after the supervision, I realized she is very

observant in all aspect of the hospital administration and managing process. Her experience

helped me a lot to develop as a human resource manager. She motivated me and shared her

experience in accounting anytime she had the chance.

11
In conclusion, I will say my supervisor did a great job. She did pay attention to the academic

progress and also my development as a professional year Bachelor of Business Administration

human Resource Manager.

CHAPTER SIX

My observations and skills acquired during my internship has influenced my academic decisions

and career choice as human resource manager, positively. since the human resource unit in my

host facility serves a unique role in the development and growth of the facility in many avenues

which include first staff recruitment, the human resource unit in my host facility was ensuring

that management are updated on the staff’s strength available which aids in decision making

process and the delivering of service. Also, the human resource unit responsively organize staff’s

personal information submitted to my host facility at the time of employment which help to

review personal information about staff. Lastly the staff’s motivation, the human resource unit in

my host facility was ensuring that staffs who were due for promotion were promoted to ensure

that staffs are able to deliver services properly. In review of this the human resource program as

pursued as an academic course helps to equip students with knowledgeable skills to aid in their

industrial pursuit.

CHAPTER SEVEN

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter Consist of conclusion and recommendations I would like to recommend to the
facility to carefully examine it.

CONCLUSION

This report contains the multi-task activities I performed during my internship at Amoako

healthcare city. It explains the company history down to their responsibility towards the public.

During my internship period I carried out a lot of practical works as compared to the theory I

learnt in school during the past semesters.

All this activity impacted positively on my studies, attitude and skills as well as career plan my

goals of correlating the knowledge in the classroom and field.

The challenges I encountered during my internship I was able to overcome all by the help my

supervisor and workers in the company. I realized that the classroom knowledge gives the

theoretical aspect while the internship also takes the practical or the implementation aspect of my

studies.

RECOMMENDATION

I recommend that the company should provide a large working space for workers so workers can
have enough space to work.
Secondly, workers at the company should be increased to ensure effective running of services to
patients.

13
Finally, I recommend that some tokens or allowances are made available to students undergoing
internship or attachment to motivate them through their service.
