to notice and self control, or she would say
"I know not!" when they got too loud and
the kids knew exactly what that meant.
Differentiation
The students in my class were not where they were supposed to
be in almost all dictations. she played many videos and had
4 pictures and even had clear cut instructions for students to
follow which helped. Mrs Kers had 4-5 gifted students which
means she had to have extended lessons and something to do for
those students all the time or they would cut up.
Summary of
Integrated
lessons
Theme: Native Americans

Rationale: All of my lessons

were integrated with
information about Native
American videos, word
problems, books, stories,
and technology.

Worked: Talking
Did Not Work: Lecturing

I learned that lecturing these students wasn't going to work for all of
them. Personal connections really made the lesson flow. These
students were nosy, they wanted to hear each other and themselves
talk. Group discussion and teamwork. Seating arrangement was very
important in this class.
Conclusion
Pointers to being Awesome
Start off firm then become less strict over time
be enthusiastic
verbal praise and candy or some sort of class
job helps student involvement
its okay to mess up, fix it and keep pushing

test knowledge
interesting hooks are very important

have them do it.
