For the first modern dance we take the performance from SEULGI’s “28
Reasons” Performance Video, dancing with her own music “28 Reasons” that is
released at 4 October 2022. SEULGI is one of the member from a worldwide Korean girl
band called “Red Velvet” and she is debuting her solo album with the track title “38
Reasons” that is a combination between a dark and playful theme.
SEULGI is telling the backstory of the song, “Why is it called 28 Reasons?”, bu
she didn’t answer it directly at first and said “You know, when you are in love with
someone, as much as you care about them, you also wanna mess with them as a kid.”
Her statement, referring to the childlike courtship of teasing the person you like, seemed
to be going in the opposite direction of the dark horror-thriller vibe of her music video.
She went on to elaborate, “I’m 28 now. I have 28 reasons why I love you, and I wanna
mess with you, but it’s a little hardcore.”
Seulgi explained that the song was about a mature version of that playfulness
that has gone too far and doing everything to mess with the person you like. Based on
the concept, people assumed that Seulgi was very popular in school, and many boys
showed their affection for her by pulling her hair and teasing her! And she revealed that
the pranks boys played on her were when they played Gomujulnori, a traditional South
Korean children’s game played by older generations.
 “28 Reasons” performance video consists of 9 dancer in clouding SEULGI
herself. The style of the dance is energetic and powerful, and it is very coordinated.
The dancers are very talented and very good. The choreography is also based on the
theme of the song, it is hot and powerful so that the message of the song is delivered.
The music accompaniment is a hard-core bass song, it doesn’t have to many
chord progressions and not too many beats. The dancers used a hard-cored emo style
outfits to support the vibe of the song.

For the second modern dance we take the performance from NCT TAEYONG,
Freestyle dance performance video, dancing to the music “Paris in the Rain” from
LAUV. TAEYONG is one of the worldwide Korean boyband called NCT and is the
leader of the group.
Based on the song, “Paris in the Rain” by LAUV is a slow and chilling genre
song. This song is telling about a love-story in Paris and is a very romantic song.
Because the story of the song is set on Paris, Taeyong danced to this song on the Paris
streets.
This style of dance is a freestyle dance, which is his own choreography. This is a
solo freestyle dance that is why there is only one dancer in the video, Taeyong himself.
The choreography is slow and sure, not too energetic but very coordinated and
attractive. The music accompaniment is very chilling and very calm, that is why the
dance is also calm moreover the situation and the vibe in Paris is very calming and
bright. The dancer used a casual and simple style for the outfit, that is why he danced
freely because the outfit is not too complicated.
