Review on Jalebi Baby by Tesher X Jason Derulo

First of all, it’s a beautifully crafted start for the song where they are talking about delivering jalebi to
their important customer. I feel the lyrics are the best part which makes the song more engaging
having said that both Tesher and Jason have their side of their story to Impress the very important
customer i.e Jalebi baby. The lyrics go with the flow of the beats and it gets blends with the music
overall. The lyrics with Jason on one hand his desires at his part whereas lyrics with Tesher is
personified .I felt that Aye, baby let me see it…….. Jalebi I, I know the things the was more of
redundant where I was expecting a new introduction or new catchy lines.

Choreography amazed me as there was a perfect use of music and beats in the background. Jason
used the chair perfectly and with ease, it felt his dance moves could have been streamed much
better, Tesher’s moves were simpler and had much of a hand movement steps which could have
been avoided it seemed he was not comfortable with the outfit he was wearing. The best part of the
choreography was how they introduced the bhangra in their dance moves reflecting the relationship
of Hollywood and Bollywood dance moves.

Costumes make the song and video more lively and attractive whereas in this song, the brightness of
the costume was on a higher note which could have been avoided as I felt it didn’t resonate with the
background as they tried to depict the Indian culture and tradition along with the song. The
transition from white to bright costume didn’t give a perfect flow as the contrasting colors were
used again and again.

What makes a video looks good is the lights associated with which attracts a viewer around, here I
would say the lights were used perfectly and the focus light gave proper support to the beats of the
music which was the best part of it. The chandelier was placed appropriately and the yellow glow of
it blended well with other focus lights. Focus lights were used on both the top and bottom end of the
set which I felt could be avoided as while watching video focus lights at the bottom distracts viewers.
The LEDs running across the wall, ceiling, and curtains went well with the background and color
combination of it mixed with the set.

The people around and the backup dancer are also key when it comes to cinematography, the
backup dancer was energetic, the coordination between them provided a perfect symmetry and a
rhythm to the song. The costumes were perfectly designed keeping in mind the Hollywood and
Bollywood taste the choreographer wanted to depict. Both male and female backup dancers were
used perfectly sometimes in some videos female backup dancers are shown more with the lead
actor but here it was well balanced.
Videography and camera recording can make a dead move lively ones and vice versa, Camera
movement was balanced in this video showcasing every lead actor for an apt time and not just
focusing on a single lead actor. The camera angle and the inclination were again appropriately
balanced. The videography and the editing part made sure that we stick to the video till the end and
sometimes it happens even with the worst of the videos when your videography and
cinematography are perfect.

The iconic sweet delicacy jalebi is the theme and core of this song, and the song's enormous
popularity can be due to its major theme of jalebi. The jalebi baby's chorus is catchy and would be
ideal for Instagram clips. Jalebi is the most popular dessert in India and most of South Asia. This
recipe is suitable for any time of day. That's how profoundly jalebi is ingrained in our culture.
