y 1. Have the students create a ClassFlow account at https://classflow.com/
2. In the upper right-hand corner click “Create an Account”
3. Click “Sign up as a Student”
4. Have the students use the “Class Code”, which is 6YQR6, to join the
“American History” ClassFlow group, and have them enter their credentials
and information into the required fields. They can also use the link
https://prod.classflow.com/join/6YQR6 to join the “American History”
ClassFlow group, they will still need to enter their credentials to make an
account, if they have not already
5. After the students are all in the “American History” ClassFlow group,
“Deliver” the “Causes of WWI” and “WWI – A New Kind of War” Flipcharts
a) To “Deliver” the Flipcharts, click the “Resources” tab on your Teacher Account
page
b) Under “My Resources” click on the “Marketplace” folder
c) The “Causes of WWI” and “WWI – A New Kind of War” Flipcharts are in this
folder
6. The first Flipchart you will “Deliver” is titled “WWI – A New Kind of War”.
This Flipchart contains images of the technology developed before World War
I (during Era of Rapid Industrialization) and during World War I that
influenced the warfare tactics of the Central Powers and the Triple Entente
(Allied and Axis Powers)
7. The next Flipchart you will “Deliver” is the “Causes of WWI”. Review the
presentation with the students and call on them to come up to the board to
interact with the “Knowledge Checks” to make sure they are retaining the
knowledge presented to them
8. Once you’ve had them go through the “WWI – A New Kind of War” and
“Causes of WWI”, follow steps 5a and 5b to get to the “WWI Friends and
Foes” Memory Game “Activity”
9. For this “Activity”, you can either –

a) Project the “WWI Friends and Foes” Memory Game “Activity” on the
Promethean Board and call students up to have a turn at the Memory
Game by interacting with the Promethean Board

OR

b) “Deliver” the “WWI Friends and Foes” Memory Game “Activity” to


the class and have them do it by themselves or in pairs, so they get a
more individualized learning experience

10. For their “Exit Ticket”, ask the students their opinion on what they think
caused WWI and which technology was most influential during the war.
Don’t let them give one-word answers. Their answers need to be fully
fleshed out with explanations to their answer so you can see if they really
understand the influence the technology developed during the war and
before the war during the Era of Rapid Industrialization had on
on warfare tactics as well as what caused World War I to begin. For this “Exit
