I was 7 years old, when I did a painting and every color that I used was so fascinating, even
though it was a small one I enjoyed doing it. As I grew, my interest towards colors, structures
became stronger and in my teenage I started to draw,sketch as well as paint from small
images, cartoons to huge portraits. My hands would rush into the colors bringing new ideas
in my paintings and they would just fulfil my soul. To me, painting is like a meditation that
justs boosts my energy and confidence levels high giving me more and more reasons to
paint. Just like art, writing articles, poems and blogs push me through the bad times,
although I didn’t write much in my childhood I feel I had it in me and being a deep thinker I
would say writing gives me satisfaction. When I write, my mind wanders into places that I
can’t even think off while I search for words, forming sentences to write a poem is
brainstorming but a very satisfying moment at the end and it is said that “words speak when
you can’t”. An interesting fact about writing is that it is understood to people in different ways
depending on their thinking and attitude, so is with art; the things you want to tell people
fathom in the same way. Since my childhood, I have never outmoded these interests as I
see myself into it and art being one of most important aspects of my life I realised that this
would be my goal, lately maybe but I did.

I am a computer science student, pass out from Keshav Memorial Institute Of Technology in
first class. Although, being in computer science I never could depart from the interest in art
and every situation led me into it. In my first two years of engineering, I concentrated on the
theory subjects more and I wasn’t the best hands-on. Every subject has taught me a new
lesson likely, Design thinking from second semester even though being on the terms of the
coding has made me understand the real definition of design which says “Design thinking is
a creative based-thinking process that helps you define a problem and then develops a
solution with the end-user in mind” while everyone else started to think in terms of code and
statistics I started to think on terms of Interior Designing. This subject was based on 5
attributes ( Empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test) when others used to understand
on code terms I used to understand them on client terms as in owners of the home. This is
when it striked me, I am interested in Interior designing and this realization has been an shift
of track in my life. I always tried to keep up this realization because when you are in a
different field there are chances that you may get stuck with what you don’t like and that is
when I started reading blogs on Interior designing and doing various courses to keep myself
in-tact with the field. I don’t regret being in this field because, even today if you look into any
designing field there is a need for software skills and I see this as a perk.

My Final year project was based on managing employee or system performance and
aligning their objectives facilitates the effective delivery of strategic and operational goals.
Me with my team had to create a performance tracking system for employees; measuring
and monitoring the subjective activities which includes motivation, job satisfaction and
performance while we were asked to do this on a salesforce platform. It was quite
challenging for us since we had to learn the platform and work practically on it in a very short
time period. It took us a month to study the platform and a month more to work on it;
however I find it a great deal because this project has brought new concepts to the
performance system. I figured how important is the integrated software rather than a
spreadsheet-based recording system which may deliver a significant return on investment
through a range of direct and indirect sales benefits, operational efficiency benefits and by
unlocking the latent potential in every employee work day.

I have also learned that for efficient monitoring performance of employees is to identify a
range of easy to use, practical monitoring methods, Involve the staff member in monitoring
their own performance, Design and implement a structured monitoring plan.

Being into blogs and content writing, I completed internships that offered me positions as a
content writer; ChangePay being one of them which is a new app development
understanding their customers, owns the responsibility towards the customers and as a
content writer, I captured the customer page and non-customer page. ThirdEye solutions
being another company which is a technology based company in ontario provides
specialized software to the financial industry for managing loan portfolios and as a content
writer, I worked in financing for healthcare treatments. Apart from these two, The Hindu news
daily organised a poetry contest for which I was awarded the best of the week published in
weekend magazine of The Hindu.

For a field like Interior design, It is important to have more of practical knowledge than theory
and going to states I could gain exposure that is required for this field. Moreover, having a
degree with more exposure can give a wider perspective in terms of thinking, ideas and
productivity. I believe practical work has more weightage to what we can learn in theory and
so Interior design is a place where I can be hands-on while having theory knowledge
simultaneously. Interior designing in USA has wide range of options where I could learn what
I am passionate for.

Interior designing has been my passion for 2 years by now and since I have been in
computer science it was hard for me to only concentrate on this yet I achieved software skills
that are required for designing. Now that I completed my undergrad I want to achieve my
passion and I see no barrier to do so, I feel Interior design is not only about the glimpse but it
as well plays an important role on functional basis; however big maybe the house it can lack
space if there is a poor interior design whereas even the tiny most apartment or home can
be turned into a warm place with right amount of space and with right proportions. Interior
design can teach a lot from aesthetics to structure, it can describe how even a small article
or master piece can make a huge difference to place. It is an ever ending ship of learning,
the more experience the more to learn and it perfectly fits my ideology because I am not a
kind of a person who likes to sit at regular jobs on regular basis, I need the move in life
where I can explore, create and find authenticity and I feel interior designing is my kind of
place. The more I learn the more I am satisfied in this field and justifying my creativity I feel
this university can be my platform to start off with my career. This university is not only
America’s best architecture and design schools but can also teach the essential skills that is
required like thinking on captious situation, how to communicate effectively with clients,
ethics and values, also design practise.
This university not only excites me about the course and its benefits but also the culture
between the professors and the students. Through my research, I found students telling
about the support from the professors which I think is the most important aspect while being
in the university. I also feel that the professors at the university are very sincere and
dedicated to the students.

There are two fields in interiors; Interior decorator and Interior designer and they both are
completely different from each other, a decorator loves to play with colors, fabrics and
textiles by advertising themselves to various clients whereas an interior designer requires a
accredited education. Down the line few years I see myself working towards a Motto that I
have always been believing “Small budget big design” apart from that I want to be
specialised in a new concept of design which involves europe and also Indian culture in to it
because I think both have an history in architecture and design. I want to create a
combination of both these evolving into something very unique and also satisfying the
customers requirements. I think a lot when it comes to interior designing; a wide range of
attributes have to be considered such as building blocks of theory, structure, style and
elements each having their own importance in the design field. I would have to think from all
aspects and that would be a challenging task for which I would be prepared to do any day.

I enjoy the competition that I would have to see in this area down the line in future and I
would be completely open to any new competition that would come.
