T-shirt Evaluation Form

Black women’s Jersey knit T-shirt, size Medium, casual t-shirt with no pattern and no pockets.
Bought it to wear under the sweatshirts or as a base for the outfit. I paid 9.99$, so I didn’t
expect a very good quality, and I didn’t expect it to last long.

Care label : The jersey knit , made in India ,GB wash with similar colors , 100% cotton
The bottom of the t-shirt – 400 class stich with SSt seam
The neckline – 400 class stich SSt seam
Shoulders – 400 class stich and SSt seam
Sides – 514 class stich FSf seam
1. At the point of sale / not washed (January 25)
2. After the 1st wash (February 27th)
Wore couple times between January 25-27th.
Laundered with different colors and clothes.
Warm water, 30 min cycle. Then 60 min in the dryer.
Shrinked a lot, and it is very visible. The fabric became harder and unpleasant to the skin. The t-
shirt got a weird fit.
3. After the 3rd wash (March 18th)
Wore on May 16.
Laundered with the dark colors and jeans, cool water temperature,30 min cycle. Then dryer
Didn’t notice the shrinkage, but after the dryer all the dusk stuck to the t-shirt.
4. After the 5th wash (April 29)
Didn’t wear anymore since the last wash because it got a bad fit and quality.
Laundered it in a cool water for 30 min cycle. Dryer for 60 min.
Didn’t change since the last wash.

Grain – the garment is cut on grain

Line – has the structural seams only ,fabric folds and define the shape
Set – the t-shirt has undesirable wrinkles when wearied
Ease –there is a lot of space in a t-shirt for comfortable movement
Balance – the garment is balanced and has a good equilibrium .
Fabric Questions
1.the fabric has no flows. or the flaws inconspicuous.
2. I think the appearance of the fabric compatible with the design and the use of the garment
since it's very basic.
3. the color consistent within the garment and no shading
4.the hand of the fabric was suitable for the design of the garment before laundry and then got
tough.
5.No, the fabric didn't retain its original shape and size after wear and care, shrinked after
laundry .
6.the fabric grain is true, without excessive torque or skewness.
7.the fabric colorfast
8. the fabric doesn't resist wrinkling well.
9. the fabric is not very absorbent
10.No, the fabric doesn't have a good wicking ability.
11.It was hard to care for fabric after the first wash.
12. the finishes are permanent
Findings and Trim Quality Questions
1.the size and type of the trims compatible with the garment. Do not enhance the appearance
of the garment too much.
2. the findings and trims perform the same as the garment, withstanding the same wear and
care as the garment but both do not withstand well the wear and care.
3. the finding and the trim are comfortable
4.the finding or trim color match the garment and retain its color.
5. you can't feel the labels when wearing so it's comfortable.
6.I don’t think that the care label will remain legible for the life of the garment.
7. the thread is weaker than the fabric.
8. the trims meet the required consumer compliance laws.
Stitch Quality Questions
1. the stitches do not make the fabric puckering
2. the stitches do not create seams that resist grinning
3. the stitches not extensible
4. the stitches are comfortable when the garment is worn.
5. the stitches fairly neat, placed accurately with continuous lines
6.the excessively long threads are trimmed
Seam and Edge Questions
1.I believe that the seams and edge treatments are appropriate to the fabric and price line of
the garment.
2.the seam type is resistant to raw edge, broken seam, seam slippage, and seam grin .
3. the seams are not bulky and free of puckers
4. the stitches accurately placed
5.the seams seems to be not subjected to high stress or stretch reinforced
The T-shirt meets the expectations that I had when I bought it, I believe it was my fault for not
following the care label for the first wash. But the quality is not the best and I don’t think I
would buy the same t-shirt again. There was not any damage after wear and care besides
shrinkage , but now I don’t think I can wear this t-shirt anymore.
