The best sports communicator in the world is Steven Glynn, known as “Steve Dangle,”

professionally. He is best known for making his Leafs Fan Reaction (LFR) videos on YouTube.
Steve Dangle continues to post a reaction video after every single Leafs game during the
regular NHL season. Dangle first started making his YouTube videos in 2007 and throughout
the years, he became famous for his ranting and screaming about the Toronto Maple Leafs. In
his online videos, Dangle has a persona of being a crazed fanatic of the Maple Leafs and uses
this to give his analysis and opinions of each game. Soon after he gained popularity, Steve
Dangle started a podcast called “the Steve Dangle Podcast” with two of his closest friends,
which helped boost his online popularity.
One of Dangle’s most viral and famous internet moments happened in February 2020
when the Maple Leafs played the Carolina Hurricanes. In the game, the Hurricanes lost both of
their goalies to injury and had to use the Emergency Backup Goalie (EBUG). The EBUG
happened to be the Zamboni driver for the Toronto Marlies- the American Hockey League
affiliate of the Maple Leafs. In response to the Maple Leafs losing to the Hurricanes with an
EBUG, Dangle made quite an entertaining video which has over a million views.
The creativity and ingenuity of Dangle’s YouTube channel have made him stand out in
hockey fandom online. He enraptured casual hockey fans and fanatic Leaf fans alike. He’s built
a career out of his passion for hockey and is continuing to build more creative content on the
Sportsnet YouTube channel as well. Dangle’s unique rhetoric online has built up a fanbase
internationally and has even reached non-traditional hockey markets with his videos.
