2021 Key Initiatives

Develop leaders for a changing world through the JCI


RISE initiative, focusing on sustaining and rebuilding
economies, motivating the workforce and preserving
mental health.
Talking points
JCI PROJECTS
• RISE is JCI’s reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic from an economic
perspective. It is not a top-down campaign – it’s a member-driven
initiative
• Members are encouraged to develop projects related to the three
pillars of RISE:
1. Sustaining and rebuilding economies by supporting small,
local businesses
2. Motivating the workforce through youth entrepreneurship
3. Preserving mental health and well-being
• This initiative will anchor JCI in economic reality and boost its
credibility, while enabling our global members to move towards One
Future

Cultivate a global leadership mentality among


members, amplifying their existing skills and talents
through high quality events and training programs.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
• Developing leaders for a changing world by focusing on practical
Global Leadership Masterclasses (ex. Global Entrepreneur or
Financial Management courses) to position JCI as a pole of
excellence for high quality, practical business and leadership
focused training
• Encouraging National Organizations to develop more courses
centered around the 4 Areas of Opportunity

EVENTS
• Accelerating transformation to add concrete leadership value to
our members and become the number one growth and retention
tool, with proper incentives to attend
• Developing hybrid and agile events to adapt to a constantly
changing global situation

Engage our efforts in a unified direction by investing in


the tools and resources that lead to growth and
development, as well as member retention.
Talking points
GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
• Investing in our members with proper tools that will enable us to
better understand them
• Developing solutions that will enhance their leadership skills and
add value to National and Local Organizations
• Retaining and motivating members in existing National
Organizations and moving back onto a path of global membership
growth

FINANCE
• Responsibly managing finances so that all spending yields true
return on investment (ROI) to our members
• Creating solutions focused on business development and raising
revenue

Optimize partnerships with business, government and


civil society to amplify members’ actions and provide
further development opportunities.

PARTNERSHIPS
• Evaluating existing global partnerships based on the benefits they
bring to our members, as well as at the national and local level,
using a quality vs quantity approach
• Fostering opportunities for corporate financial sponsorships
through products like the TOYP revamp and Creative Young
Entrepreneur Program to raise revenue for JCI, especially when
implemented at national and local level

Use the new IT platform and other digital tools to find


new ways to engage JCI members and create a more
meaningful brand experience.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION


• Attracting talented and aspiring global leaders by focusing on the JCI
brand with more professional graphics and messaging
• Enhancing JCI’s credibility with current and future partners
• Ensuring that all members understand the new direction of the
organization, with a more holistic and leadership-oriented focus

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
• Encouraging members to sign up to the new IT platform, which will
change the way members interact in addition to leveraging our global
network for project and business contacts
Engaging Key Stakeholders

Individuals
• Embrace the positive mindset of a global leader and use
JCI’s project management expertise to lead high-impact
local projects in all 4 Areas of Opportunity, becoming a JCI
brand ambassador that will actively help recruit and retain
enterprising young leaders around the world and provide
them with practical leadership skills.

Local and National Organizations


• Encourage the use of JCI’s project management expertise
to run high-impact projects locally and nationally in all 4
Areas of Opportunity and facilitate understanding of the
JCI brand through the alignment of activities and
communications to help recruit and retain members and
provide them with practical leadership skills.

JCI Board of Directors


• Effect governance changes to align organizational design
and budget to strategic priorities and brand, empower the
future Board of Directors to be more effective, nurture
relationships with partners to connect JCI to new
opportunities and transform JCI events in order to recruit
and retain members and provide them with practical
leadership skills.

JCI World Headquarters


• Shape the global leadership strategy by facilitating
international partnerships, tracking and reporting key
growth metrics and aligning all aspects of the
organization with the 4 Areas of Opportunity, focusing
first and foremost on empowering our members so
they can achieve great things
