PRINCE PERRY THE FROG / AMIGURUMI PATTERN BY AIRALI DESIGN
MATERIALS • Paintbox Cotton DK (50 g / 125 m / 137 yd) in 429 Lime Green (approx 60g) and
403 Champagne White (only a few grams)
• Scheepjes Lizzy (25 g / 101 m / 110 yd) in Gold 03
• 3 mm crochet hook
• 18 mm safety eyes
• black embroidery thread
• toy stuffing
• stitch markers
• tapestry needle
SIZE 12 cm tall 15 cm wide when made with the indicated or similar yarn
SKILL LEVEL intermediate
PATTERN NOTES It is not necessary to use the recommended yarn and crochet hook to make this
amigurumi. Using a smaller crochet hook, and suitable yarn, the amigurumi will be
smaller while preserving the same proportions.
The pattern is mainly worked using the “amigurumi” method: working in a continuous
spiral without closing off the round with a slst. It may help to use a stitch marker in
the last stitch of each round, moving it up as you work.

CONSTRUCTION The body is worked in one piece with no seams. All the other pieces are sewn to the body.

Follow Round 7 instructions depending on the kind of eyes you
are going to use or make for your frog:
Rnd 7 (with gaps for safety eyes with a thick stem): 25 sc,
dec, ch1, skip 2 st, 2 sc, dec, 9 sc, dec, 2 sc, ch 1, skip 2 st, dec,

Rnd 7 (if you are going to embroider the eyes or use

Yarn over the crochet hook and draw it

FRONT LEGS CROWN

Make 2 in green. In gold. Ch 15.
Rnd 1: start 8 sc in a magic ring [8] Rnd 1: slst in first ch to join in circle (be careful not
Rnd 2 – 9 {8 rounds}: sc in each st around [8] to twist the chains), sc in all 15 st [15]
Rnd 10 {toes}: same as for round 21 of the rear legs. Rnd 2 – 3 {2 rounds}: sc in each st around [15]
Leave the remaining stitches unworked. Rnd 4: slst in next st, (ch4, skip the first ch from the
Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. Using a tapestry hook, 1sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, skip 2 st from round 3, slst in
needle, close the little gap and weave in the yarn end next st) repeat 5 times.

BELLY TO FINISH
In white.
• Using black embroidery thread stitch:
Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
the mouth across rounds 11 and 12 (5 stitches
Rnd 2: inc 6 times [12]
wide) and the nose across round 8 {img43},
Rnd 3: (inc, 1 sc) repeat 6 times [18]
• Use a tail of white yarn to stitch on the outer
side of the eyes, to give them more depth (this is
optional) {img44-45}.
• Seam across the rear leg from round 8 to 20 to
visually divide the leg in half (so it looks like a
Rnd 8: sc in each st around [42]
bent leg) {img46-48}. Sew the rear legs to the
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing the belly on
sides of the body, 1 cm inside the edges. Place
to the frog between rounds 21 and 34 (you can stitch
the legs as shown in img 49 – 51.

• Sew the front legs starting from round 19 of the
body, make sure the toes lay on a surface like
the rear toes.
Use sewing/dressmaker pins to check • Using black embroidery thread make some
