Massage to a creator
Dear fellow crochet lover,

First of all, thank you for purchasing my pattern and I hope that you will enjoy recreating him as much
as I loved designing him for you! This pattern is for personal use only. It is prohibited to copy, translate or
distribute, re-selling the pattern and the contents of this document in any way. You can SELL THE TOY made
from this pattern.

Note: The height of finished toy is about 23 sm (9 inches). You can use the same pattern to make smaller
or larger toy by using finer or bulkier yarn.

 Crochet the toy with tight stitches.
 Each round is worked in a continuous spiral. Do not join rounds with slip stitch or turn unless
started otherwise. Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the ending of the round. It is
highly recommended that you read through the pattern before beginning to crochet.
Skill level: easy
Basic crochet skills required.

Materials:
- Yarn YarnArt Jeans COTTON 55% POLYESTER 45%. Weight: 50 grams. Length: 160 meters.
Colors: beige (05), green (63), light green (11), yellow (35), light brown (71), some light green acrylic
yarns for beard (you can use bulkier wool or acrylic yarn)
- 2.0 mm crochet hook
- Fiberfill
- Sewing needle and scissors
- Cardboard (for gnome foundation)
- Bamboo pick for stuffing
- Stitch markers and some pins
- Wire
- Brush
- Colorful beads

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
st = stitch
sc = single crochet
inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
dec = decrease (2 sc together)
sl st = slip stich
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
BlO = back loop only
FLO = front loop only
(..) = repeat the space in brackets the given number of times
(12) = total number of stitches at the end of round/row

Instructions:
Body
Start light brown yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2: inc 6 times (12)
Round 3: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times (24)
Round 5: (sc in next 3 st, inc) repeat 6 times (30)
Round 6: (sc in next 4 st, inc) repeat 6 times (36)
Round 7: (sc in next 5 st, inc) repeat 6 times (42)
Round 8: (sc in next 6 st, inc) repeat 6 times (48)
Round 9: BLO sc in all 48 st (48)
Round 10-32: sc in all 48 st (48)
Round 33: (sc in next 6 st, dec) repeat 6 times (42)
Take a cardboard and cut it, put into the body (it will help the gnome to stand) and start stuffing.
Round 34: (sc in next 5 st, dec) repeat 6 times (36)
Round 35: (sc in next 4 st, dec) repeat 6 times (30)
Round 36: (sc in next 3 st, dec) repeat 6 times (24)
Stuff the body (use bamboo pick)
Round 37: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 38: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
Round 39: dec 6 times (6)
Cut and hide the tails.

Arms (make 2)
Start beige yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Round 2: inc 6 times (12)
Round 3-5: sc in all 12 st (12)
Change light brown yarn
Round 6: BLO (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 3 times (9)
Stuff firmly, don’t stuff till the end.
Round 7-14: sc in all 9 st (9)
Cut and leave a tail for sewing.

Nose
Start with beige yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2: inc 6 times (12)
Round 3: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times (24)
Round 5-8: sc in all 24 st (24)
Round 9: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
Stuff the nose
Round 10: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times (12)

Cut and leave a long tail for sewing on the body.

Beard
Use acrylic floss (you can also use chuncky wool or acrylic yarn for bread) cut nearly 3-4 inches and attach
on 2nd-7th stitches on the last row of the nose. Brush them and cut if you need.
Attach light green acrylic yarn like on photo OR sew chunky wool or acrylic yarn and brush.

Start with green yarn
Round 1: 4 sc in a magic ring (4)
Round 2: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 2 times (6)
Round 3: sc in all 6 st (6)
Round 4: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 3 times (9)
Round 5: BLO sc in all 9 st (9) (mark 1st stitch)
Round 6: (sc in next 2 st, inc) repeat 3 times (12)
Round 7: sc in all 12 st (12)
Round 8: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 9: BLO sc in all 18 st (18) (mark 1st stitch)

Make Crab Stitch1, cut and hide the tail.

Join a new green yarn on 32nd st


Round 1: (ch 20, skip 4 loops on the 32nd row and sl st to 5th st, sc in next st) repeat 10 times
Cut and hide the tails

Join a new green yarn on 25th st


Round 1: (ch 20, skip 4 loops on the 25th row and sl st to 5th st, sc in next st) repeat 8 times
Cut and hide the tails

Join a new green yarn on 19th st


Round 1: (ch 18, skip 4 loops on the 19th row and sl st to 5th st, sc in next st) repeat 6 times
Cut and hide the tails

Join a new green yarn on 14th st

It's also known as reverse single crochet because each stitch is the same as a single crochet stitch, but you
work in the opposite direction. If you're right-handed, crab stitch goes from left to right, instead of right to left as
with standard crochet.

Round 1: (ch 16, skip 4 loops on the 14th row and sl st to 5th st, sc in next st) repeat 5 times
Cut and hide the tails

Join a new green yarn on 9th st


Round 1: (ch 14, skip 4 loops on the 9th row and sl st to 5th st, sc in next st) repeat 3 times
Cut and hide the tails

Join a new green yarn on 5th st


Round 1: (ch 12, skip 2 loops on the 5th row and sl st to 3rd st, sc in next st) repeat 2 times, sl st
Cut and hide the tails
Stuff the hat, sew beads on it.

Star
Start with yellow yarn
Round 1: 5 sc in a magic ring (5)
Round 2: ( sc in next st, ch 4 turn and continue on 2nd loop from the hook, sl st in next st, sc in next st,
hdc in next st) repeat 5 times
Cut and leave a tail for sewing.

Feet (make 2)
Start with light green yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2: inc 6 times (12)
Round 3-5: sc in all 12 st (12)
Sew 2 sides together like on photos.
Leave a tail for sewing.

Assembly and Details:

1. Attach the nose with beard on 29th-32nd rows of the body.
2. Attach arms on 30th-31st rounds of the body on 2 sides.
3. Attach hat on nose and body.
4. Attach feet on 9th row of the body.
5. Attach the star on the top of the hat.
