What is your inquiry question that interests you for further research? It should be a question that connects with
a purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that you cannot just google an
answer for. Please see examples from your Capstone booklet.
My inquiry question is:

Do different education systems and personal teaching characteristics of teachers have a great impact on
students?

Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are choosing to
investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry connect to your passion(s),
purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?

First of all, everyone experiences education throughout their lives. As an international student, I have
experienced the education systems of two countries, from which I have realized the pros and cons of
different educational systems. In addition, when I volunteer, I mainly work as a tutor to teach junior
students. So I'm more interested in this topic and want to dig deeper.

Background: What background knowledge/connections/prior learning do you have in this area of inquiry?

First of all, as an international student, I have personally experienced two very different education systems
in two countries. Second, I have many friends from all over the world who can help me to fill in the data.
Finally, I can ask the teacher in my school.

Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What connections does this
inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals?

My intended career field is finance or education. This research question can be practiced with my life
0
because I am personally interested in mentor volunteers, and secondly, it can be linked to academics, and I
know what kind of teacher is the most suitable.

Interdisciplinary and core competencies connections: What subject areas and core competencies will
be connected with your project? Outline and explain the connections.

Communication skills, because the research needs to conduct interviews with teachers, you need to
communicate well with teachers, and try to complete video interviews without affecting their work. Statistical
data, because a large amount of data will be collected at that time, it is necessary to integrate various types
of data and fill in the research report.

Capstone Presentation medium: select one or more project mediums you wish to use to present your
project. Outline and give details about how you will present your project once completed. You may use a
combination of mediums.
o Electronic portfolio: Prezi or PPT
o Physical portfolio
o Website
o iMovie presentation
o YouTube channel

1. PPT: I will use PPT to collect the information to make some graph like line graph, bar chart, pie graph to
show my project.
2. Website: I create a website on Weebly and post all the works I did on it.
3.YouTube channel: I will interview the teachers and students I know and collect the interviews to make a
video and post on my personal account on YouTube.

Description of my Capstone project. Specific Project Details of the Capstone Project: what will you
research, create, study, produce, solve, investigate? What product will be produced at the end of this
project for evaluation. Write a one-page description outlining your proposal.

My research direction is probably generated around the profession of teacher. The outline of the research is
divided into national culture, education system, teacher's personal character, and students' evaluation and
feedback on teachers.
Because of different cultural backgrounds, there will be different customs, different education systems will
cultivate different values, and teachers with different personalities will also teach students in different
situations. Students are educated people who can react intuitively to their strengths and weaknesses.
There is no perfect education system in the world.
My research method is mainly based on collecting data from the Internet. Actual interviews with teachers and
students. Publish the QR code of the information collection to social platforms, collect the data of students, and
1
summarize them to make intuitive images.

Resources/ Technology/Skills: Make an assessment of the resources, technology and skills you will
need to be able to complete this project. What is your plan to be able to access/learn all of the resources
necessary to achieve completion of this project? Detail your plans.

In terms of skills, I need good communication skills, I need to persuade teachers and students to accept
my interviews, and I also need good data statistics skills to make pie charts based on statistics and
summarization of collected data. In terms of resources, I need to learn from the data and experimental
methods on the Internet, and seek the help of teachers to modify and improve the experimental data to
improve the accuracy of the research.

Mentors/Community Connections: What types of mentor(s)/community connections will you need to

help you complete your capstone project? How will your mentor(s) help you? What is your plan to access
the mentorship/community connections necessary for this project?

I need a mentor in education to help me complete my capstone project. I need the mentor to help me
record an interview, and after I finish the lab report, I need the instructor to help me analyze and suggest
improvement from the teacher’s point of view. I will send a message on Teams, before I go to her office
for help and not interfere with her work, probably is at lunch time or after school.

Project limitations: What are some project limitations and potential obstacles that you foresee that might
affect progress with your Capstone Project?

The amount of data collected may be too large, and it is difficult to organize and summarize. The forms
filled in by each person may not be real because it may have personal emotional influences

Other considerations: List and detail any other related information/ considerations about your project
that you feel should be included in your project proposal.

None

References: Provide a literature review of 5-10 PEER REVIEWED ACADEMIC references: research,
videos, etc. that offer some preliminary research you have done for your project that shows you are able
to access the key information that you will need to be able to complete this project/work. Your list should
be written using correct APA formatting.
