Course Objectives:
1. Define and explain event management and its functions
2. Enumerate different steps involved in planning an event
3. Explain the revenue generating process for an event
4. Enumerate the steps involved in evaluation and assessment of an event

experiential marketing.
4. 5Cs of event designing, 5Ws and 1 H of event proposal.
5. Key elements of Event Management: Event Infrastructure, TA, clients, Organizers, venue, media.
6. Event Organization structure, key responsibilities of an event manager
7. SWOT analysis of an event company, event calendar, Event timeline – Gantt Chart
Module II Creating an event

1. Four step process: ROPE
(a) For a client:Research - on previous events by client, on event market, Objective of the event, making an
Event (concept) proposal, Planning – Making an event plan (Conceptualization-The creatives – Theme,
layout, design, location), Final execution of the event, Promoting the event: Marketing plan – print + social
media, sponsors, pitching the sponsors, USPs of the event, event checklist, event schedule
(b) For Business: preparing a sales pitch with an event concept, presentation skills for making a pitch,
sponsorship, budgeting
2. Assessment steps for developing a business plan - environment assessment, competitive assessment,
market/business assessment. Developing a strategic Business plan of a start-up, pitching investors, industry
specialisations,
3. Weddings: Theme, concept, décor, audio visuals, vendor management, contracts, liquor licence, venue,
destination weddings, hospitality, menu, transport, hotel stay, invites

List of Professional Skill Development Activities (PSDA):

1. Student will create a concept proposal for a client with 5Ws and 1H and submit the file.
2. Students will pitch the concept design and event plan through a power point presentation.
3. Students will ideate and plan a CSR/infotainment event that should be conducted in the premise of the University. Students will submit a
detailed pre-event marketing plan of the same in a file.
4. Students will conduct the above CSR event and submit the evaluation report, post event.
